Pet peeve, barbarians that never use reckless attack. Episode 119 has a fight where it’s the perfect time for yasha to use reckless attack without penalty and she doesn’t do it
Heroforge had a $5 off deal so I made minis for the kids and I. Here's my dwarf, Kharas Thunderhammer
Maybe. But weirdly I’m at odds with just jumping in with strangers. At least guys here I had prior knowledge of. I browse LFG everyday, but too big of a pussy to pull the trigger
I texted Wu this, but last night I couldn’t sleep and my mind was making up bardic inspiration song based off soccer chants. Yours would have been: “He’s a grand ol’ god to fight for, he’s a grand ol’ god to support. And if ya are a criminal, it’s enough to make my sword to brrrrrr”
If you guys were willing to wait a couple of weeks for me to put things together and were patient with me never having been a DM before, I would be willing to try if there are enough to go.
You'll need to provide more character info than that. And no hexblades. I'm tapped out with the one campaign I'm already running. They'll return from the feywild next session and learn they've been gone for 13 years and the BBEG succeeded while they were gone
Finley Nettlebee the Fourth, Heir to Shawhill, Destroyer of Life, Devourer of Tarts and Souls, son of Finely Nettlebee the Third, Lord of Shawhill, Devourer of Tarts, just, was born a blind hobbit. His mother made a deal with Demogorgan to restore his sight in exchange for the Tome of Tarts, a family heirloom detailing the recipes of over twelve hundred of the world's finest tarts, both sweet AND savory. Finley has spent his adolescence filled with guilt for the cost of his sight. He was recently approached by Belaphoss, a rival to Demogorgan, who agreed to give him otherworldly powers that would enable him to return the Tome of Tarts to Shawhill in exchange for dispatching Demogorgan from the Abyss. He is gregarious to a fault. When convenient (and often when not convenient), he will introduce himself by his full name, including his self-given titles. He is actually an accomplished swordsman, having taken up the artform in preparation for his quest to retrieve the heirloom. A hobbit form of Inigo Montoya.
Finally watched the Darington Brigade one shot. Oh my God that was hilarious. Currently watching Night Before Critmas
Yeah, it's fine as a sanity check, but I've had multiple encounters KFC said were deadly turn out to be total snoozers
well 2 things. 1) add HP to your monster if it’s too easy, 2) if you have a big boss and minions, just throw in more minions as the fight goes on if it’s too easy. The players don’t know what you had planned
Marisha’s opening to that, while a little long, may have been the best bit ever done on CR. And Tal’s character getting his ass handed to him was equally fun.
So I’ve been really been into Ravnica lore for MTG. I actually have the DnD module for Ravnica. Would anyone of y’all be interested in running a campaign based in Ravnica after War of the Spark?
Also I just loaded up the CR episode from last night and it’s 6 hours long.... shit must have went down...
You’re gonna be frustrated by the end. Fuck did they M9 the shit out of the later part of the episode. First part Travis is beautiful because he let his Grog out and it was for the best.
finished it last night and yeah that was a bit of a disaster. at one point i was sure c3 would be starting soon.
Finished Cragmaw Castle today. Only Wave Echo Cave to go Spoiler: Except homebrew when they met the necromancer at Old Owl Well whose zombies were attacking people that strayed too near his excavation site, the party talked their way thru it and told the townsfolk to stay away, leaving the necromancer alive. I'm playing him as that he's not necessarily bad. He just wants what he's searching for and if you're in the way... So I'm going to have him learn of the existence of Wave Echo Cave and the Spell Forge and come to Phandelver looking for information. When the party returns from Cragmaw Castle they'll find the town under attack by undead. The party had a random encounter with an ogre near Old Owl Well and also killed the orcs and ogre that were bothering the necromancer previously, so I'm going to have them as part of his undead army lol Also thinking of having the +1 longsword, "Talon", have an "awakening" when used to protect Tresandar Manor. Twice a day it will enable the user to burst toward, or away from, an enemy a full movement speed. Spectral wings will burst out and propel the weilder, disrupting any attacks of opportunity. Attunement will now be required. The first time it happens I want it to be where the weilder feels "compelled" to charge into battle to protect the manor as zombie ogres are tearing it down. He'll be "too far away" to reach it in one turn and then the wings will burst out and carry him to battle. From then on it'll be full choice. I think that'll be a cool surprise.
Will listen to last weeks episode on Thursday but my tpk list is 1 first meeting with vecna 2 kraken fight 3 Lorenzo battle 4 first meeting with laughing hand where does last weeks episode rank in those (I might be missing some near tpks)
Going to transition to Curse of Strahd when we finish Lost Mine of Phandelver. My buddy has a fog machine. I'm totally borrowing it for the opening of the story lol that'll be awesome for the kids
You know, I thought they actually did a really good job negotiating an impossible scenario. They've done way, way worse before.
How, have them relentlessly pursue the M9? I thought he didn't really cut them any slack at all. They weren't winning that fight but they didn't even have a single character go down. They've been in much worse spots.
I mean, BBEG has an anti magic cone, could have canceled any polymorph or escape mechanism. Yasha and Beau would live regardless just with their foot speed, but everyone else was screwed imo.
he canceled a bunch of stuff and I’m pretty sure he tried to cancel their polymorph at the end but wasn’t in range. Knott’s phamtasmal force saved them. Also I think Mercer nerfs that spell which you could argue should be done.
I logged onto your stream for about 5 minutes on twitch and saw your Bard. What level did you guys start at?
I think CR will wrap up C2 when they finish this arc, assuming they stop them/win fights. I feel like we’ve hit most of the character growth arcs and I think they’ve started making enough C3 comments offhand that they are ready to move on soon.
it would be disappointing for them to end c2 without resolving Caleb's story. and there could be a bit more to fjord as well.
I think this too. Although I could see Fjord’s arch being done, Caleb sure isn’t. Beau hasn’t really had an fully realized story yet either
but i do think they're obviously thinking about their next characters and we will see c3 later this year
