I guess we secret Santa’d some couples birth registry today and my wife bought everything they had on their Amazon list. Not really secret Santa though I don’t think.
its definitely been a mental release for me this week. I’ve had all kinds of reminders about the ex so this was nice to have.
Where do you find the Pilates on the phone app? I wish they had a better search (or I knew how to use it better.) edit: found them in collections and under strength.
Have done the first four in the collection and surprised at how sore my hips are. Crazy what happens when you start using new muscle groups.
Hit 5k minutes in 2020 just under the wire. I didn’t really start in earnest until late April so I’m going to be shooting for 10k in 2021.
Doing this again to keep me motivated and accountable. Hit 16000 minutes on total workouts so hope to surpass that this year. Try to do about 600 rides and at least 5000 miles. Here are my totals so. Averaging 1000 workouts a year with a little over 500 rides so 600 might be too many.
Kendall put up a 30 minute rock ride that she said was "co-curated by Corey Taylor" (lead singer of Slipknot) She mentioned a couple times talking to him over IG and how much he inspired her and stuff and it was pretty apparent they were going to bang
Alright Bike+ is in. Now what do I do. Any recommendations as far as starting out? I’m worried my shitty back will hate leaning over for the handlebars but I’m going to give it a shot
yoga. Low impact beginner rides. Recovery rides. Stretching. Do you work out now? Do you cycle currently?
Obviously I’m not a doctor so I hate to give advice. Try short easy rides. You’re not leaning too far so it might not be that bad. Take advantage of the full experience. Yoga stretching and foam rolling will help you.
Really wish they would make switching accounts easier on the Roku app. My best friend and I are at war over whose account should be logged in. /Tweet
If you’re having back issues be sure to pay special attention to your bike fit. https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/wiki/index/bikefit
Trying to come up with a new handle.... Thots? 1. DinnerThots - since I think about food so much 2. EarthwormEnthusiast - who isn't? 3. PeloBear -
Got my bike in November, really enjoying it. Is there a Strava tmb group? Posted a PR this morning on a 30 min climb ride. 541 KJ
God damn... These PBs shatter mine. 1. Alex 2. Denis 3. Hannah Corbin (because I do the best when I take her classes) Least fav: Emma Lovewell... She makes the push to hard at the beginning, so my workouts with her are always amongst my lowest outputs.
Been trying to convince my wife we should get one. She really wants me to exercise with her, but I hate running and the treadmill. She keeps looking for a cheap knock-off.
My buddy pays for access to the classes for $12.99/month, and then bought a cheap bike. Definitely a cheaper option if that's what you're looking for.... Only thing is that you'd want to be able to see the bike's resistance, and know how fast you're pedaling. Speaking of pedaling, if I was a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep, my handle would definitely be DrugPedaler.
Took a couple days off around Christmas/NYE. Still did some stretching classes and a couple rides but got back on it this week. Also grabbed adjustable dumbbells so am mixing in some weights starting this week. Lost about 20ish lbs the second half of 2020, joined the weight loss contest on here so hoping I can stay motivated and keep this up consistently.
The key to classes once you get acclimated with the bike is doing a warm-up before the bike. That eliminates your complaint about Emma.
I've been doing it for almost 2 years now. bike will be paid off in March. I've only lost 5 lbs but I can eat what I want and my pants fit better. I have an irrational love of chicken wings.
Yes still learning... Got the bike on December 14(?), and was in the worst shape of my life at the time. Still probably am, though it's much improved over the last few weeks.
Yeah my PRs typically happen after a 5min warmup. I was shocked I out up the output I posted above because I spent the first four minutes actually doing the warmup.
I try to count calories Monday-Friday then kind of do whatever I want on the weekends. If I could cut that back to just Saturdays while continuing to ride 5-6x a week I hopefully can lose another 20-25 by the summer. Wings are always on the shortlist of weekend meals for me though too.
To each their own, but I enjoy following the actual prescribed resistance/cadence numbers. Because of that, I’ll probably never put up a 500kJ 30 min ride. And I’m fine with that.
Daniel Ocean Can you link the massage gun you use again? I've been doing more strength workouts and I'm dying.
You can't. their ranges don't allow for it even if you top out resistance and cadence. I think the class summaries show you a range of kj based on the instructor recs.
The suggested numbers are always going to be targeting lower to middle strength riders because that represents a majority of the riders in a class. For most that is a perfectly good workout, but the instructors always say they are a guideline and to push outside of them based on your desire. No harm either way. Also, I liked this thread better when Boo MFer! and I were the only output hardos. Those outputs are insane, great job everyone.
For those that go above the class settings, how do you determine where you go with it and still follow the course of the class? I’m nowhere near getting to being outside of the guides, but curious how you set yourself up outside of them.
Will typically choose an amount to go over top end. For me I will do 5ish over for a normal ride and 10is over if I'm pushing. I also try to use 50 as my baseline or flat road. I still do recovery and low impact rides. when I try to ride hard everyday my output suffers in a major way. My best rides are after a rest day and two days without drinking alcohol.
So it’s mainly resistance upgrades and then you roll with their cadences guides? That totally makes sense.
Exactly. I follow their cadences most of the time. sometimes I push heavier out of he saddle and go slower.
I don’t put up numbers like some of the people on here but I always follow the cadence but will push the resistance if I’m feeling good that ride.
