At the end of the day, it’s just another year of Miami football

Freaking Steelers. What a shitty way to end the year, and a pretty bad time for Tua to have maybe his worst performance.

that said, I really hope the dolphins don’t move on from him. The guy had a “I may never get to play again” type injury 13-14 months ago, and on top of that every offensive weapon for Miami died. If they were picking at 1 and could get Lawrence I’d get it, but it may be down to QB3 by the 3rd pick. There is certainly more reason to be concerned about him than there was to start the year, but I think it would be a huge mistake to cut bait without giving it a shot next year with extra recovery time and hopefully some upgraded weapons.

Can’t give up on tua. But you can’t go into the 2022 draft without capital to get a QB. Mandatory to trade down now

Today proved more than anything you need playmakers. So no. Fuck trading down. Use the pick as the luxury it turned out to be when you traded to get it.

    It’s draft time folks

I think you either go pass rusher/WR at 3 and get the other at 18

I’ll take credit for the reverse jinx. 3 and 18. You have to end up with two pro bowlers with those picks. No excuses after the shit burger they put on the field today

Who could have ever thought that the second 1 from Houston would be #3? God almighty BOB did a fantastic number on that playoff team.

Now that I’ve calmed down, this team didn’t deserve to make the playoffs. They had a terrible strength of victory and were heading for a beat down next week regardless. They don’t have a running game, they need an impact WR, they need a pass rusher or 2.

The defense, while vast improved from last season, still had a bunch of JAGs on it. They lived off turnovers and scheme this year. That doesn’t last forever and we saw it today. They couldn’t get pressure on Allen and he tore the fins apart at will. It was comical.

Too many glaring issues, typical of a team in year 2 of a total rebuild.

I will be honest and say that I am a bit worried about Tua. He definitely didn’t do anything to say that he’s a legit QB. Yes, he had chicken shit around him, but he still didn’t show enough to make me feel great about his future.

I still think it’s more important to trade down and acquire more draft capital for both this season and next year.

hell. I’d move down to pick 6 or 7, take the best WR on the board and then try to move up from 18 and get a pass rusher.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a pass rusher. Not a position that’s been highly prioritized in this scheme, and we are a top 10 D in sacks. Think it’s going to be a lot of offense early, but I like moving back to 5 or 6

Suck ass result after being optimistic for the first time in forever. Have to say that I really like Flores. Put Gailey out to pasture. Get a run game, a couple wide outs, and hope Tua develops. I'm not sold on him, but he isn't a bust yet. Lock down the defense for as long as possible.

After seeing Tannehill become perfectly good after leaving and also seeing the Gase Experience at the Jets I really don't understand anyone who then looks at Tua's situation and come away thinking Miami is still a QB problem.

Kinda shocked that some of y’all are so anxious about Tua. I didn’t see anything that makes me think he can’t be the guy we all thought he could be when he was drafted. He did what was asked of him this year. He showed flashes of brilliance and was pretty much solid everywhere else. They asked him to play mistake free football and he did that for the most part. Expecting a rookie QB with no off-season to come in and light it up with arguably the worst skill position group in the league was unrealistic, especially when the play-calling was as conservative as it was. There’s a world where we don’t have the #1 scoring D in the league, we go 6-10 instead of 10-6, but Tua is more productive because they’re not worried about him losing games. Would y’all feel better then?

Btw hitting on this OC hire, with the draft capital we have and their input on taking Sewell/Chase/Smith/Waddle/Harris/etc is going to be absolutely humongous for the future of this franchise

    This is from PFF:

    3. MIAMI DOLPHINS (FROM HOUSTON TEXANS) — OT PENEI SEWELL, OREGON
The discussion of what the Dolphins should do with this pick will carry on all spring. One thing is clear, though. Few quarterbacks — especially rookies — would succeed behind the Dolphins' offensive line in its current form. Sewell is this year’s version of Chase Young, just on the opposite side of the ball.

Would be hard to pass on a guy with that description if he's there.

They had Waddle going at 16, if we could trade up a few spots and land him with Sewell...

The good news is we are in a good spot. We will have a great option at 3 available or could trade back and I will be happy either way

IDK how excited I would be about Marvin Jones, or how much he adds. Better than what we have at the #2 WR spot maybe? I really have my hopes up for one of Godwin, A-Rob, or Golladay- those are the big difference makers imo. No on Juju I don't think he will live up to what he will demand

Marvin Jones #48 WR per PFF. He's been super consistent on his grades each year, so that is basically what he is. I don't know how much he would improve our O, and we need drastic improvement not just a slight step up

Trading a highly drafted OL to get a luxury pick to draft another OL to make a rookie offensive line somehow even younger just doesn't feel like a good fit with the pick. We could use some serviceable veterans in the OL rotation but this pick should be swinging for the fences on a playmaker...not another rookie OL to throw in with other rookies.

A lot of FA wide outs, and a deep draft of them too. Hard to come by OL prospects as good as Sewell. If he’s there at 3 we better be trading back (if we don’t take him)

Personally, I do not think Austin Jackson will be good- he finished 78th of 83 OTs. He was a panic pick IMO. While our OL was improved, most people who scout these things for a living still think we have a ways to go. Jackson is the one guy on the line that didn't show much of anything, though. I think adding a franchise cornerstone at OT would help the running game and the passing game. But I get where you are coming from- if we could add some picks, move back and still get a playmaking WR then that certainly is something that would make sense as well.

I guess it depends on what the coaching staff thinks of Jackson after having him in there for a year and what his growth potential might be, but it makes sense to go either direction IMO. But he certainly seemed in over his head this year.

Tanny was looking like he was turning a corner here around 2014-2015 when he had pretty solid seasons under Philbin. Things were trending upwards for sure. Then he got hurt and Gase took over...horrible combination for him.

Players can improve. Not guaranteeing he will be good or anything...but you have to at least give it a couple of years (at least a second year) before bailing on a boy playing a big man's position. Especially when surrounded by other rookies.

I'd rather try to improve the OL and say they are young...but there's no improving the skill positions. That's a flat out gap that needs to be filled that can't just be coached up with what is there.

Jackson was 100% a panic pick if you buy that we were about to draft Cesar Ruiz. What's funny is that him and Igbinoghene already look like reaches/misses but the later picks (Hunt, Davis, Jones, Kindley) all look like steals.
