Had to have been the old "I'm not going to fire you but I would highly recommend resigning or retiring" deal from Flores.
Every year Harry Potter was at Hogwarts they had a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. The one in book 3 had the ability to turn into a werewolf.
Thinking of BOB...was that offense an issue in Houston? Or was it just his awful GM skills and being an asshole #Houston Texans
Joe Brady is an absolute pipe dream since he’s probably getting looks for HC gigs, but he is from Broward. If he could bring Curtis Samuel with him too....
Feels like this is the first time in forever we got paired with NFC East, gonna feel weird playing the Bucs in a game that actually counts
Just thinking, if we sign 1 of the top FA WR’s like Allen robinson, Juju, Marvin Jones, Godwin, Golladay etc draft one of the Bama WR’s or chase Add najee or etienne This offense will be so much different next
Reports that quarterback Deshaun Watson is unhappy with the Houston Texans and could ask for a tradereached a new level Sunday morning on ESPN's Postseason NFL Countdown, where insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter revealed the possibility of a trade with the Miami Dolphins. According to Mortensen, as Watson's frustrations boil, a scenario where the Texans make a deal with the Dolphins for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could unfold. "Reports that Deshaun Watson is unhappy with the Texans are accurate," Mortsenen said. "After the team hired Nick Caserio as GM, it did not interview Chiefs (offensive coordinator) Eric Bieniemy as a head coach candidate, sources have confirmed. Watson has a new $156 million (contract), but ... the franchise's insensitivity on social injustice causes have been reinforced, and a source close to the quarterback says he very well could push for a trade. "And get this — one scenario for a landing spot is the Miami Dolphins, trading places with Tua Tagovailoa to the Houston Texans. And you're not going to get anything but denials at this stage from both franchises, Adam, but this is an offseason puzzle we may be trying to put together."
I also take everything Flores/Grier says publicly with a grain of salt. Chan was coming back and then quit a day later. They are in no way married to Tua
Well when you're talking about landing Watson of course you aren't married to Tua. But the price tag on that is going to be astronomical. The thought of getting him for Tua and a 1st and 2nd like I've seen floated seems like a joke. Toss in a few more firsts and maybe the Texans wouldn't hang up. It's not happening unless the Texans are even dumber than I think they are. And that's pretty dumb.
It shouldn't be. Their leverage is keeping a wildly unhappy QB on their roster. It only takes one desperate team but there likely isn't a huge market to give up "market value" for a guy who wants the hell out.
He's a young star QB. Whether he wants out or not there's gonna be quite a few teams in on it bidding the price up. Plus, having someone under contract for four years is good leverage for the Texans regardless. He's gonna play for the Texans next year if they don't trade him. He's not gonna sit out.
Tua’s contract is the great equalizer. A rookie QB contract is worth it’s weight in gold. there’s a reason teams that have elite QBs on rookie scale contracts are able to quickly build juggernaughts and then start to show cracks when the QB gets extended. It’s going to take a haul to get Watson, but it won’t be some ungodly Herschel walker type return.
It can happen but teams shouldn't mortgage everything around him to get him. If someone does thats an example of a poorly managed team. Miami should want zero part in that. It's be the fastest way to drop back down to 5 wins.
Depends. For a team like the 9ers I think it makes a lot of sense to ship off a bunch of picks for Watson. Their window is now.
