Anyone know how much an OFC would run around here, asking for a friend, looking for expert opinions only.
I did a blind tasting today with B519 C919 A120 and C920 and they were all delicious but the 919 was just hitting different.
I mean I'd love to bathe in Stitzel Weller and have late 90s Kobe Tai attend to my every want and need too
I started doing the math in my head on amount spent annually divided number of bottles I would drink through and I landed on a variety of bottles, factoring in secondary, that were depressingly high in cost.
i just wanted everyone to know i am drinking some bulleit bourbon with appalachian fernet bc i ran out of beer
I'm all about the value picks these days. Although the fancy bottles I get at retail taste reeeeaaalllll good
No doubt, I’d probably go one of the Makers wood stave series or Cask Strength if I had to pick one that’s on the available side. Those Carmel notes...
i'm looking for some new bourbon recommendations. last time i was recommended bulleit 10 yr which i just finished off and I really liked it, will prob buy more. I was also recommended four roses single barrel, which was not great. the local ABC store has a huge selection of bourbons and idk where to start
Controlled state so nope. Oregon tax may make it a bit higher but everything is at retail for the state.
Believe it's $60. I'm not the biggest fan of Makers, but their 46 is a huge step up from their base offering.
Let me know if you want me to snag some. Are you looking for 46 101, 46 Cask strength or regular makers cask strength? Think all of those are available. Maybe even wood staves release if I check my other shop. I’m not a fan of regular makers, but their up leveled offerings in the $45-$70 range are great.
46 Cask is one I'm curious about. If you have any great store picks that we could pair along with that to save on shipping, I'd be totally game. No rush, I'm still packaging some Caribous for Lipp the curious and questioning libtertarian
Ive got a couple Bulliet frontier store pick and might have an extra KC 14.9 year store pick. If you want to wait a couple weeks to ship my store should be getting in a Buffalo Trace store pick any day. I’ll snag the 46 CS before it disappears. Was quite good since I already drank one pretty quick in December.
Do you want something more sweet or more grainy? Something that is smooth or has some bite? Minty or Vanilla?
bulleit seems to have a whole sweet + vanilla bit that i really like, but i'm not averse to grainy, or minty; i like my beer tasting like dirt. smooth is good, bite is bad. very bad. bite is what i just don't have any appetite for
I’m wasted and decided to try tiny pours of my “good” shit to see if my wasted palate can discern. Bouyre B-, a little sweet. OWA, C, not great. Bomberger’s, A+. phenomenal start to finish. I’ve only seen one in the wild but if you see bomberger’s for $150 or less, buy motherfuckers. if you see Weller Antique 107 for $100+, do not buy motherfuckers
tiny pour of Michter’s 10 sample that bourbon god pperc sent me. Nose great. palate/taste. Oakey as fuck. Not what I was expecting. finish: decent. verdict: $100+? Give me the Bomberger’s baby
BrickTamland my store owner texted me and is getting Buffalo trace barrel in, you want one of those, one of the Bulleits or both?
So the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof whisky are incredibly smooth (especially for 130 proof). TN Whisky but still counts as bourbon except they don't want it called bourbon. Could always try some mellow corn if you find it but thats going to be super young/heavy on the corn notes but smooth. Anything that is called a toasted barrel is going to be a lot smoother but hard to find. Ryes are going to have more of that minty/earthy tones imo but they're usually going to have a bit more bite. A wheated bourbon is going to be harder to find in general but Weller green label or rebel yell might be worth trying. Yellow label four roses is generally pretty smooth and has a banana note in it. Standard Buffalo trace you would probably like as well.
