Has Biden laid out any sort of concrete plan for what they may do regarding Covid once he’s in? I’m not talking about stimulus, but shut downs or travel bans or any of that?

Nope. He has only referenced faster distribution of vaccine and making decisions based on science.

I'm in the novavax phase 3 trial. 66% of participants got the vaccine, 33% got the placebo. I got injected last Wednesday (5 days) again with the first dose, and my body didn't react at all. No temperate, reaction at the injection site, no muscle aches, etc...

I'm most likely in the placebo group, right?

Thanks for the response. Multi-dose. I have my follow up shot on Jan. 27. I was curious if anyone heard any anecdotes on novavax, but I know it's way early in the process.

Georgia started rolling out Internet Signups for new Phases of Covid Vaccine Distribution via each County's Health Department website.

I am in 1B but my 93yr Old grandmother is in the next phase...so figured I would get her registered and signed up.

Of course the County's website has been down all morning due to Server issues. Of course.

they presented some data this morning at the JPM Healthcare Conference. Single dose antibody titers - much lower than Pfizer/Moderna after their second dose (duh). Doesn't mean too much.

It's been bad here. My MIL's PCP was able to give it to her, hopefully my wife being a caregiver for her can get it very soon. My Dad in Augusta called me and said that his PCP freaking didn't have any doses or they weren't vaccinating right now. He signed up on the county's department of health website and hopefully will get a call soon, he and my mother are 73 and she would definitely be at high risk with all her health problems.

Wife’s best friends grandfather and grandmother got it about 10 days ago. Her grandfather passed this morning. He wasn’t in great shape to begin with so they kinda knew he wouldn’t survive this. She wasn’t able to see him, such a lonely way to go.... really sucks.

Thinking ahead, when will it be acceptable to go in public without a mask? I know right now they are telling people to keep wearing a mask even after getting vaccinated. Are we going to have Fauci have a presser and say no mask is cool at some point? I don't want to go without a mask and have people judging me as some Trumper lol

Just got my second shot today. Really thankful and grateful that I got it.

The amount of increased cases of Covid after the holidays was almost unbelievable. I was rotating in a rural ER in Florida , and the amount of cases we saw increased by about 3 times as much as compared to 3 months ago. I know this Covid fatigue is real with all the social distancing and mask wearing, but be safe out there man.

the plant i work in has banned wearing n95 masks because “they don’t protect others only the wearer”

maybe i wouldn’t have to worry about protecting myself if a mask policy was enforced but alas it’s not

Where are they getting their info from? If its a regular n95 its absolutely offers protection to others. Only the ones with a outflow valve wouldn't. Most people I see with n95 or kn95 don't have these.

How different the response to covid around the country just continues to amaze me. I haven't seen a maskless person in 9 months besides people walking outside with no one around, and our big anti covid thing has been a couple of restaurants setting up self seat outdoor dining for takeout when outdoor dining is supposed to be shut down. And then I just read about people like your work. It's fried my brain.

Looks like they’re about to release all doses instead of keeping reserve second doses and will start setting up distribution sites. Time for production to keep up.

    https://apple.news/A1boQRxgtTXqmkHVB6Uqo1g

The Trump administration plans to release reserved second doses immediately, a senior administration official tells CNN -- a plan already announced by President-elect Joe Biden that was first reported by CNN. The official expects reserved doses to be distributed over the next two weeks.

The new plan would also change guidelines to allow vaccinations immediately for anyone older than 65 and would help states set up mass vaccination sites should they request assistance. The administration wants to shift focus away from hospitals and focus more on adding more accessible venues, such as pharmacies, the source said.

This will attempt to address a reoccurring issue states have faced in trying to administer the vaccine through hospitals and medical providers that have said they don't have the resources or personnel to serve as vaccination clinics.

The change in guidelines, which is expected to be announced at a noon briefing Tuesday by Operation Warp Speed, is a significant shift from the approach taken by the Trump administration which had previously balked at releasing all available doses. Both Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna's vaccines require two rounds of injection, and while releasing nearly all vaccine doses on hand could quickly ratchet up availability, it also runs the risk of depleting resources that are necessary to make sure people are fully vaccinated.

The changes come after two Operation Warp Speed meetings held by HHS Secretary Alex Azar over the past 48 hours about how to speed up the lagging process, according to the official. Vaccine manufacturing has not ramped up as rapidly as many experts had hoped.

As recently as last week, Operation Warp Speed pushed back on the Biden team's plan to release all doses now.

"If President-Elect Biden is calling for the distribution of vaccines knowing that there would not be a second dose available, that decision is without science or data and is contrary to the FDA's approved label," OWS spokesman Michael Pratt said Friday in light of Biden's announcement. "If President-elect Biden is suggesting that the maximum number of doses should be made available, consistent with ensuring that a second dose of vaccine will be there when the patient shows up, then that is already happening."

Last week, two top officials from the FDA said anyone who receives those vaccines needs both doses, dismissing the idea of stretching the supply by allowing just one dose or cutting doses in half.

They also dismissed other ideas for stretching the vaccine supply and said people who are speculating about the possibility of making do with just one dose or cutting doses in half are misinterpreting the data.

"We have been following the discussions and news reports about reducing the number of doses, extending the length of time between doses, changing the dose (half-dose), or mixing and matching vaccines in order to immunize more people against COVID-19," FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn and Dr. Peter Marks, who heads FDA's vaccine division, said in a statement at the time.

Nearly 9 million people have received their first doses of vaccine and nearly 25.5 million doses of vaccine have now been distributed, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday. But that's far behind initial administration estimates, which at one point predicted 20 million Americans would be vaccinated by the end of 2020.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus is surging across the United States. More than 200,000 new Covid-19 cases have been reported every single day over the past week, according to Johns Hopkins University, and the US has averaged more than 3,200 reported deaths each day over that period.
