I’m team Smith at 3. Joe Thomas was the best tackle in the game for 15 years and where did that get the Browns until they drafted Mayfield and surrounded him with skill guys? The Hunt and Kindley picks prove that you can find quality NFL starters outside of the top 30 picks and you’re going to be able to find a plug and play tackle somewhere in the draft. Im only moving out of that pick if you’re making the Watson trade or if a team offers you a historically large haul for it
Assuming there isn't a Watson trade and the Jets keep Darnold/draft Smith (unlikely but still possible), the market for the 3rd pick with Fields/Wilson/Sewell on the board is going to be insane.
What a stupid fucking quote..prey tell WHY fitz was not available?? " But that same player added he “got frustrated” when Flores told the team Fitzpatrick would not be available for the season finale against Buffalo.
They can take Sewell, that means we hold the cards for QB #2 and that pick will have lots of interest
So Canada goes from a failed OC in college to a promoted OC in the NFL in less than 3 years. Not following.
Lol if the Jets bid more then we want to offer Watson will not be any good in ny either. So no. That would not be devastating. Beasley and his constant hyperbole sucks.
I'm normally with you on that but when you have two first rounders and the worst skill positions in the NFL I'd be ok with it this year as an exception of the RB is on another tier.
I don't want a RB in the first round but at least you'd have the silver lining of the 5th year option which is nice.
It's a waste of resources. You can find good running backs late in the draft or in FA. I don't care how bad the position currently is. It's stupid unless you're getting someone like Derrick Henry or Elliot which let's be real Harris most likely isn't that good.
But a source close to Watson told Mortensen that firing Easterby would not resolve the issue, saying that "Cal McNair would have to fire Cal McNair." Watson has a no-trade clause in his five-year, $156 million deal with the Texans, and some team sources believe that the three-time Pro Bowler could force Houston's hand into trading him. The no-trade clause would give Watson some control over where he is traded because if it wasn't the destination he wanted, he could decline to report. There is a growing consensus within the NFL, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, that Watson will force his way out, and the Texans believe he will command a high compensation package in a trade. A source close to Watson told Mortensen that the Dolphins remain prominent as an acceptable landing spot because the quarterback likes the culture he has observed under Miami head coach Brian Flores and there are no state income taxes in Florida
Seems like a lot of our OC candidates are being hired elsewhere or being promoted.... I guess this means we are targeting someone still in the playoffs?
The latest CBS mock has us trading the two first rounders, Tua and a 2022 second rounder for Watson and a 4th round pick.
