Is he a take at this point? Kyren is clearly going to be the feature back in this offense for the next two years, and then Tyree is going to be the clear #2. So unless you can find someone who’s clearly head and shoulders better than those two and can justify pissing them off, I don’t see a fit.
And C'Bo is the perfect #3 who is a pain in the he ass to tackle when he gets in late because he has fresh legs and runs hard.
One year unfortunately on Kyren. He's a killer pass blocker who runs hard and can be dynamic out of the backfield, but I don't think he can take it to a "Najee Harris" type level where if he comes back for another year, he can improve from a 3rd rounder to a top 20 pick. He'll probably leave and go in the 2nd/3rd round in the 2022 draft. But yeah, for the point at hand, Stepp wouldn't be a take IMO
really disagree but thats because i really liked what i saw from stepp at USC in 2019, thought he was their best back
the way Helton utilized him was hilarious, he would pop a few 7 yarders and sit for the next two series. That’s his game log from 2019.
I think the back we took Estime is a younger version of a similar type physical stocky back with some good wiggle
Some guy just posted this on 247 and Loy said ND is reaching out to confirm interest. https://247sports.com/player/gunner-stockton-46059056/
A 5 stars qb, son of a senator, priority number one is to have exposure, named gunner who already decommited. what could go wrong?
Part 2 of their big picture look into the program: https://www.18stripes.com/the-notre-dame-off-season-project-6-roster-areas-of-concern/
I'm not a huge Driskell fan. But on a SBT radio interview he said Houston Griffith is listening to ND who is trying to get him back in the fold. That would be better than just grabbing a random guy unless there is a bona-fide stud out there. New system and new coach maybe he can make it work. He's got talent
Heard him say this last night and I just laughed. “Sources” Hope he’s right though, said it was not a playing time decision but a personal one, best guess is he and Joseph didn’t get along.
i get HG3 hasn't played well but this was his first year at safety and he didn't get spring practice or much of a fall camp (he had Covid and missed a lot of time based on reports) but he does have a lot of talent and maybe a new safeties coach could pull the best out of him. i hope he comes back and gives it another try, it sure would make me feel a lot better about safety depth
He should come back give it a shot and get his degree, if it doesn’t work out go play at FSU for a year
I would think it makes sense for basically anyone on defense to go through spring practice with the new staff and see where you stand before transferring.
HG3 has not officially entered the transfer portal yet...it's been a while since he announced and most guys usually go into the portal shortly thereafter. This is a good sign he's re-thinking things.
yea, his situation is odd to say the least i don't know how to check the official transfer portal but just telling you what i'm seeing from various people
Matt Freeman said it’s been a done deal he’s transferring since October Hoping he comes back. He should with a new D staff
Good for him!! What a steal he was for Pittsburgh. It’s unfortunate for him they are going to tear the whole team down this offseason
So who is going to be the new men's basketball coach next year? And does that get more buzz than our safety position hire?
More importantly how much is Urban’s buyout from the jags going to be in a few years. I hope he still has the ND clause in there.
Probably Martin Inglesby. Former Brey player and then assistant at ND, now the head coach at Delaware and has seemingly turned them around.
I have prepared myself for another year of Brey, let him finish with the big class that’ll be seniors, but yeah, he’s done.
He's staying one more year I think- they will make the tourney and he will retire/maybe go to the NBA as a bench coach
Glad we hired a ***checks notes *** Brian Kelly QB to be the guy to figure this out. Tommy Rees trying to figure out what's wrong with our offense:
If we don't make the tourney next year with all 4 of these juniors coming back, the Yale transfer, Wertz playing the full season, and Wesley/JR enrolling, it will be a pretty black mark on his legacy. Between those 8, a core of six top 150 recruits and two highly sought after transfers, is, what - one of our most talented teams of his era on paper? If we don't make the tourney with those guys and the "developmental" class of Burns/Sanders/Zona maybe contributing SOMETHING, that's really bad.
