Yeah he had a decent start to his career but kinda just faded I’ll always remember him for the bitch made stuff he did with Acuna
Worst part may be that it's a signal they're going to be even cheaper this offseason. Looking at $3-4 million deals versus the $6 million last year.
I remember him a bit from the Twins, and I tend to follow the A's a bit for late night TV reasons. He was good last year. Hope that trend continues.
He was nice in DFS last year, cheap OF usually to blend in with your A's stacks. Believe he can move around on D too ...
We've talked about this kid 3-4 times already because these guys were supposed to sign in July until COVID and MLB is stupid, but it's worth repeating that this is probably the most highly regarded kid we've signed out of LA in a really long time. Similar money to what we gave to the Campos kid last year, but people have actually heard of this guy.
Only the #14 guy on MLB Pipeline. Come on Avila, you should be going after the higher ranked guys on that website.
It is to Chris Ilitch. Our payroll is like $60 million lol. If he pitches like he did last year, he won’t be getting anything close to that in 2022.
like many of my FA insights, i can only say he's been p good as a cheap DFS catcher to finish out my stacks ...
I don't understand why they weren't trying that more already. At this point, it's almost easier and takes less athleticism to play 2B than 3B.
Ramos was awful to start last year, and then above average offensively in the second month. Don't think he's good defensively, but he should at least be decent at the plate, which is a huge improvement. If he and Grossman are just decent versions of themselves that's a pretty significant upgrade from where we were.
MLB.com is slowly releasing their top prospects list. Just reminder last year ended with Torkelson 4 #1 3b Mize 5 #1 rhp Manning 20 #6 rhp Greene 25 #7 of Skubal 42 #4 lhp Paredes outside top 100 but #10 3b No top 100 list yet but Torkelson remains #1 3b Mize fell to #2 rhp Manning remains #6 rhp Skubal jumped to #2 lhp Paredes still #10 3b No OF list yet So it looks like Torkelson will probably be similar in this year's rankings with a slight dip for Mize and a bump for Skubal
Joc to the Cubs for 1/$7M. We probably would have had to pay closer to $10M, but I wish we were on that.
Damn the guy picked after Green is #8. Avila has to be kicking himself on that one. He has a bonus clause in his contract for prospects in top 10 per mlb pipeline
He won't play them this season and our new draft pick they can advertise 6 top 30 guys. But honestly it won't shock me is Manning, Tork and Greene don't play this year. Also with Boyd, Norris, Urena, Fulmer and Turnbull, one of Skubal or Mize may not play much either
Who gives a fuck. We have that many top prospects because we finish in last ever year, there is no lottery, and we keep them in the minors. start trying to compete you cheap fucks.
I haven't been paying any attention beyond random tweets that pop up, but I'm pretty sure he's had a very good run in winter ball to this point. At least at one time he was leading his league in hitting.
