Same here as an introvert and love the community. I thought it would be gimmicky but has been awesome.
You can sync to the Peloton and join our club TMB it just shows what rides everyone has done, has a group leaderboard etc.
I've done triathlons and rode a lot in my past (sold everything). Wife doesn't enjoy riding a bike outside unless it's safe paths. Might go with a proform or a myx
https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/wiki/index/bikefit You can find the bike fit video with Christine here. It’s quite good.
I did my first stack over the weekend. I didn’t mind the continue for the reasons already said. But did find it annoying that once you hit continue you had to still start the class. Also should be auto skip intro.
I assume any ride counts as a ride, as in if I do a 5min warmup that’s one ride? I’m approaching my 100th ride probably next month, so trying to make sure I don’t miss it. I’d like to do a live ride for it.
lol I could imagine, kind of why I was wondering. I wasn’t sure if it was a thing where if you did 3 in a day let’s say, warmup-ride-cool down if that was three or one. I rarely do the live rides because I like to get on right after work which is kind of a dead period for the classes, but for #100 I figured it might be cool to do it.
The Guglia said “alternating” so I didn’t know if he meant instructor or rider. Also doesn’t alternate” mean switching so couldn’t one do the section he wants and the other the one she wants? Unless he is joking because they are hard workouts and if that’s the case sorry for messing up the joke.
Every “milestone” ride I do live and make sure I schedule correctly. Hitting 1550 tomorrow and it will be a HIIT with Kendall at 2 pm local time. Doing a 5 minute warm up right before to make sure 1550 is a live class. It’s a sickness

I mean two people doing a Bootcamp simultaneously with one bike. One person on the bike and one on the mat - similar to Barry’s Bootcamp where half of the class is running and half is doing weights.
the closet thing I could think is starting the same class on the bike and on the app. You can fast forward or pause on the app. You could do two different classes of the same length one strength and one bike but I don’t think that’s what you mean. Unfortunately I don’t know what “Barry’s bootcamp” is so I don’t understand the reference.
She is my go to for a shoutout. Think she did 600 and 700. Helps since my LB is SpartyOn and her dad went to MSU.
I recently purchased a NordicTrack S22i and have enjoyed it thus far. While I know it’s not a Peloton I have a question about classes, not the live classes but outdoor rides, intervals, etc. there is inevitably some riders who blow so far past me I don’t see how it’s possible. For example, today I did a ride through mountains in Spain. This was a 30 minute ride mostly uphill. Where I’ll do 9-10 miles in that timeframe the top 5% or so will be at 25-30 miles. How the fuck is it possible to cover 25+ miles, uphill, in a 30 minute ride? I’m trying to wrap my head around how, even if the rider managed their own resistance and incline and went down hill the whole ride.
Some people are just beasts. If using the old bike some can ‘juice’ their bikes to an unachievable level.
Ordered one on Jan. 4th, delivery set for March 16th. By reading the last couple of pages, I am not getting it March 16th am I?
Take these metrics with a grain of salt. Most riders couldn't maintain those speeds going downhill, much less uphill. Plus, these indoor spin bikes are notoriously inaccurate and poorly calibrated (though the new Bike+ does seem to be much better in that regard).
I’m over here laughing really hard at the thought of some garage workout guy averaging 50-60mph on a bike for 30 mins.
You might. Dissatisfied customers are always more vocal than satisfied ones - and that's understandable. Peloton will add something like 250k users this quarter and you won't hear from most of them because a majority of deliveries are still going smoothly.
We have had the Nordic Trac (s221 studio cycle) version for about a month. We tried to go to a Peloton store but due to covid, it was a 3-hour wait via an appointment. Then 8-12 week shipping delay. We then went to Dicks Sport Good and came home with the bike an hour later. The first 2 weeks I mostly did the nature rides enjoying some scenic routes in Japan, Hawaii, Argentina as examples. I've recently gotten into the classes that are 1/2 on the bike and 1/2 off doing weights/yoga/etc. I never thought I would be a classroom spin cycle guy but its been great for both me and my wife. I know its not a Peloton but the bike and daily exercise is helping me getting in shape for the first time in a long time.
i don’t know what pro riders can but maybe that is possible for some. Lastly some cheat and hack their bikes to get these outrageous numbers.
this is the peloton thread because most of us have that but that doesn’t mean all aren’t welcomed. Just know we will be guessing with our answers with non peloton questions. And most of our discussions will be peloton specific.
That’s how I reacted when I starting noticing. I’m sorry Margaret but I don’t think you crushed 28 miles on this 30 minute ride.
IDK, for the recognition? I think I’ve done 8 miles on a 20 minute ride before. I thought I was a bad ass until I looked at the leaderboard.
My regular workout pace is a little over a mile every three minutes. For a 15 minute segment I should be around 5.33 miles. That is how I check my effort on the longer 45-90 rides. There are a lot of people out there with bikes that are not calibrated correctly, but there are also a lot of people out there that have been cycling a long time. They can create output.
Probably a good guess. People are strange. I just have trouble wrapping my head around why someone would “cheat” to appear at the top of the leaderboard for something they get no rewards for. The only person being cheated is the one doing the cheating. Congrats on your fake workout, I guess?
I’m old guys. I am going to be in the 6.5 mile 200kj meaty part of the curve. It’s a HIIT class so I might hit 6.7 miles lol
