Basic question: Does Citi charge 3% for the balances you're bringing over? Do the cards that you're transferring the balances from charge you?
Citi double cash charges 3% or 5$, whichever is higher. I'm sure others do. Some may waive it as intro offers
I read the question as does the other side also charge a fee. The account you're transferring your balance off of. As in, I'm saying only the company receiving the balance charges you.
Yeah, that’s what I meant. Fortunately I’ve never been in the situation, so not aware of typical terms and conditions.
No - you’re just paying off your balance with another credit card. They can’t charge you for paying off your balance - they just get the money.
Approved for platinum Amex in December for 100k point bonus. A 125k point bonus mailer just arrived. Any hope of them giving me the extra 25k points if I call and ask? Is there a script to this inquiry?
They finally approved the wife's Amex Platinum (125k offer). I had used our new address and they had requested proof of address. Took a week to review but finally through. Phew. Ofcourse I'm gonna hit the spend in 1-2 weeks. Good news and bad I suppose.
Yup - not to mention, the 10x back on groceries and gas for the first 6 months really is a cherry on top
From TPG re Amex Plat users 17 ways to use the $30 monthly PayPal credit The best way to maximize the $30 monthly PayPal credit is to use it to cover one or more expenses you’d already be incurring. For example, some cardholders have reported using their $30 PayPal credit for the following: Stocking up on essentials at Walmart or Target Paying taxes through PayUSAtax (note there is a small fee to pay your taxes with a debit or credit card) Monthly streaming service fees Ordering food through delivery apps An Uber ride across the city Paying for monthly newspaper subscriptions Buying items through Ebay and Etsy Donating to select charities Ordering photos through Shutterfly Clothing from JCPenny Reloading Starbucks cards Furniture from Wayfair Buying gas through select gas apps Home improvement purchases from Home Depot or Ace Hardware Ordering pizza through Domino’s Medication through Express Scripts Utilities such as power, internet and gas in some regions
With half of January passed, I made my annual donation to Wikipedia today using this credit. I might do so again if I find myself late in the month and not interested in uber eats. Remember, you'll want to execute a few days before the month ends to ensure it posts in the proper month, though I give paypal more credit to post on time than i do some of these other processing platforms. Especially so when it relates to shipping a physical item and the charge might not post until the item is literally shipped - which is doubly bad with covid delays. YMMV.
Thank you TPG for letting us know PayPal is accepted far and wide. This isn't like people trying to find what to spend the free $100 on at Home Depot.
I was disappointed when they removed comments from their site, which showed just how many people disapproved of the products/offers/affialites they were pushing that were demonstrably in their best interests, and not for the reader's .
This may have already been covered, but the new AMEX platinum offer with 10x on up to 15k in grocery/gas spending can be even better than the 100K offer without that bonus, right? I’ve tried for years to get the 100k offer and haven’t ever been able to land it. Looking at this new offer, my current best grocery card is AMEX gold at 4x, so gaining 6x more on 15K is an extra 90k points plus the 75k bonus. Any fault in that logic?
just checked and we have 264,895 chase points on our saphire reserve need this pandemic to end, daddy needs to take a trip
I need a new credit card to put all my purchases on. I don't spend much on groceries - just gas, travel, and major stuff to soften the blow. I closed all my cards a couple years ago to ease the temptations. I think I have one card that I haven't used in 2 years. Just want rewards to airlines pretty much.
You're probably best off in the Chase universe. Flexibility to United and Southwest or through their travel portal. If I gave you these the options what would you choose: Free card with no travel benefits, some points, and a small sign-up bonus $95 a year with some travel benefits and slightly more points and a big signup bonus $250 a year with major benefits and maximum points and a big signup bonus (You can easily downgrade a card after a year if you don't find it worth it)
If no one else has one: Earn 60,000 bonus points with Chase Sapphire Preferred. I can be rewarded, learn more. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/6a/S6S3GJUMJT
I needed a new calculator for school and so added some things on Best Buy and hit 50 dollars for the Amex offer. Didn’t read the fine print on has to be ordered online and shipped. The pickup at store screwed me
Here's mine just in case someone needs it https://www.referyourchasecard.com/m/6a/6L5/G9F9/1562704747 Earn 75,000 bonus points with Chase Sapphire Preferred. I can be rewarded, learn more.
Chances are that the 125k offer won't show for referral links. As long as you don't try to refer yourself, you should be in the clear.
If AMEX platinum has a referral and the current offer still stands, somebody that contributes here drop a link
we had a rental car in clemson last year when some kid backed into us the CSR system is clunky as hell but cut the check with a quickness once I actually got the rental car company to give me an itemized repair sheet
I finally gave up on waiting for AMEX 100k offer and decided to jump on the 75k + 10x at grocery. As I click apply, one more time I pull up a new window in incognito just to double check some terms and boom, offer now shows 100K + the 10x grocery/gas.
I’ve done the cardmatch tool probably 20 times over the last year or two and never gotten it. I just pulled up incognito window and googled amex platinum and the 75k offer popped up. I clicked “apply” but didn’t fill anything out yet, then did a new incognito window with same search and this time the 75k offer was scratched out and 100k in its place
