Whoa, the whole shit got laid out when I was reading last night. Moony, Padfoot, etc. Peter Pettigrew slept in Ron's bed for 12 years? Still don't know how Hermione is attending 2 classes at once. Looks like that'll be the next to last chapter
Easily some of the best chapters in the entire series. Takes a lot of self control to put the book down after those bombs get dropped.
Just had to put it down mid-Sirius Black rescue mission. Hermione and Harry are hiding in the forest with Buckbeak watching their past selves go into the Whomping Willow
No spoilers, but there will come a day you will rue the day the time turner was invented by JK. (this has no impact on the books you are currently reading so no worries for now.)
The ending of book 3 was fantastic. Best ending yet. Feels great to see everything work out for Harry. Book 4 is pretty cool so far how it's getting more into the behind the scenes of the Ministry of Magic etc. The Quidditch World Cup part was awesome. (Who conjured the Dark Mark? I have no clue.) Can't wait for the Tri Wizard tournament. Learning more about the different international wizard schools seems like it'll be fun.
I think Goblet of Fire is my favorite book as it feels like it really begins to open up the world quite a bit more.
I've also spotted my first sign that we are "growing up" a little bit: Ron said damn! I'm guessing by book 7 it's full on f-bombs and Harry talking about how he wants to nasty sex bang Cho
I've been naming animals after characters since I started reading these books. This is Tom Riddle. This is Sirius Black.
Gryffindor -- Minnesota Ravenclaw -- Pitt Hufflepuff -- Iowa Slytherin -- Marshall About right on the colors?
Pretty sure Ravenclaw is more of a royal blue and sliver accent. Like the Lions but a darker shade of blue
It’s hilarious they make the other schools essentially camp in RVs in the snow when they could presumably bewitch an extra wing on Hogwarts with the quickness
Remember, the tents from the quidditch World Cup? The ship and carriage are certainly the same thing.
Update, I'm a few hundred pages into book 5 now. Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy Parkinson any time Draco says something:
Not trying to threadjack, but just finished audiobook of Sorcerer's Stone today. Started two right after, and will likely switch to text as I'm not going to be driving a lot.
First time? Nice. TC doesn’t update much so please hijack with regular updates and we will shower you with likes
First time reading books. Wife made me watch all the movies when we were first dating so I've seen them. Got lots of small laughs in the first, looking forward to getting more stuff that is books only, or drastically different to the movies in a better way. Felt like book 1/movie 1 were pretty in line.
Weird comparison that occurred to a southerner: the death eaters are analogous to the confederacy. The people sitting around waiting for their dark marks to start burning are some south will rise again mfs. “Confederate flag: heritage not hate!” Would you say the same thing about an innocent little dark mark?
After a wild spring summer on the personal life side, I’m finally diving back into it. Just finished book 2, and enjoyed it quite a bit more than the movie
Unfortunately I’ve watched all the movies so most of this isn’t too surprising. Absolutely loved the shrieking shack scene. So much info. Loved hearing how Sirius got out of Azkaban, and also finding out Hermoine also hit Snape with the expelliarmus.
