Let me tell yee all a story about the fall(?) of 2007. There was a democratic primary debate. I was an Obama fan but you know high school kids sometimes do pretty weird stuff in an attempt to make sense of the world. I “scored” the debate based on the substance and clarity with each candidate responded to the prompts. I think it was a scale of 1-10. Joseph R Biden won the debate, narrowly defeating Obummer. All this is to say I’m not sure why people act like Joe Biden is an arch centrist because he pays lip service to working across the aisle. He’s got a long record of being liberal, but since he doesn’t check every box the exact way every progressive wants people want to act like he’s a socially liberal republican
Everything that goes against what they want and what their interest are and they’ll say we aren’t trying to unite and heal.

I'm legitimately fascinated to see what all the news stations (both sides), nighttime hosts, talk shows, etc. do next. 90% of their material was Trump related - you're basically having to start from scratch now.
I don't think it's really debatable that the news cycle was more one-dimensional in this past presidency than any that I was alive/lucid for. No judgement - but I'm still intrigued on how things are going to look.
I think dems said they kinda wanted to do the same so it gave the Senate time to get the cabinet members hearings/votes done so they didn't have to delay those
