Blank has done a good job with Atlanta United. Idk why he has made some shitty hire with the Falcons.
Seems like he hit home runs with united at the beginning and it's been an absolute cluster fuck since. I'll defer to you though because I know you follow it way closer than I do.
He didn’t waste any time firing de Boer when it was evident he wasn’t gonna get it done. On the flip side he stuck with Dimitroff and Quinn way too long.
Such an amazing photo. Hank always said that he left Mobile with a suitcase that only had a second pair of pants in it and $2 in his pocket. That 17 year old boy in that picture changed the world in a magnitude few others have. What an amazing life.
Legitimately crazy how $50 changed the course of history. Signed with us instead of the Giants because the Braves offered him $50 more. Not just for on the field, but in terms of race relations and civil rights, that $50 did so much good.
Chaps my ass that we lost Phil, Don and Hank while Buck and Kincade, Curt Schilling and Aubrey Huff are still living it up
chip will live until he is 120 and continue working the entire time our kids will reach retirement age having to listen to that dork call games. God has abandoned us all
This clip has been shown at least 20 times on MLB Network since I turned it on. His call of the homer is great. The joy in his face is heartwarming. By the way, some great stories being shared on MLB Network if you can put it on the background.
while i agree that it’s dumb to let a year decide it, hopefully this puts to bed the babies who insisted we spent too much on pitching and there is no money left to spend
.... We aren't spending it? We have 40+ million left to spend and seem to be targeting 162 games of Kakes for LF
you’re moving the goalposts. you said the money wasn’t there which by your own admission about springer isn’t true. it is.
it must have been someone else who threw a fit over signing morton because it meant we didn’t have enough to spend and someone else who assumed i was talking about them even tho i never named anyone in particular
Go back an read that convo. We still have money for position players. I wasnt a fan of using money for the two starters the way we did. No need to rehash that We should have enough for a good bat/DH, hopefully a team friendly deal for MM and maybe another position player
the money is there for the pitching and an elite bat tho. like we said the entire time. and we just tried to spend it on springer. not wanting to do 6 years is not an indication of not wanting to spend big which fits the argument most of us have said the entire time
Right, I would rather have had one vs two. No need to rehash that. We have money for both. We've spent our pitching capital... Now seems there isn't a bat left unless we sign Ozuna...which seems unlikely bc he sucks playing defense and MLB can't get thier shit straight with the DH. So we spent relatively aggressively to sure up our rotation, and now we're acting cheap and our line up is looking kind of weak. Maybe The JTR rumors are true, but doubtful.
Then we're never going to sign a free agent over 30, which is dumb. Get 4-5 great years, maybe a ring while hes still in his prime and worry about maybe an average year when he's 37. We gonna sign Freeman to a 3 year day bc we're scared of his oft injured self at 36?
Man, just heard about Hank. Always was a world-class representative for the Braves. The organization will miss him and Don Sutton. *Don Sutton story: Mentioned it before, but my friends and I started the Sheff’s Chefs (for Gary Sheffield) fan club in ‘03, and it took off to the point of selling Sheff’s Chefs merchandise in the Chop House, showcasing us in a couple commercials (didn’t see a penny), occasionally led the 7th inning stretch on the Jumbotron, and even got on Sportscenter a handful of times. It took off, mainly due to the announcers loving us. Don was one of the guys who always promoted us and would ask the camera man to pan our way (cheap seats in RF, about Sheff’s). He was diagnosed with cancer (kidney?) in ‘02, and missed some time in ‘03, but still managed to meet up with us (along with Joe Simpson), the times we were invited down to the field for batting practice. He was an incredibly nice guy. RIP
Clown Baby has one emotion stronger than his hatred for Atlanta sports talk radio, and that’s his love for Atlanta sports talk radio.
It’s impossible to accurately describe that but I’ll point you to his left ankle where he has his Beta Theta Pi tattoo right below his Dawg4Life tattoo.
