this is so true. Dems only chance is to pass their agenda for the first time and see what voters think. Obama used so much political capital to get Heathcare passed. It was unpopular at the time because no one really knew enough about it. It hurt the dems in the midterms. Then people started to actually use it. Now it’s a major political positive for Biden and something the dems proudly ran on. Running on repealing it went from the key message republicans ran on to something they tried to do in secret and deny they were actually doing. You do that with 5-10 other things and losing the messaging war won’t matter. Obamacare has laid the blueprint on how little Republican outrage matters when it helps people.
100,000+ Americans dying each month, healthcare system stressed to the brink, no vaccination distribution plan, entire government departments gutted and needing to be rebuilt. But the defense secretary did what shit loads of ex service members did and became a contractor as a civilian.
Guy with a homeless sign on a corner walking by cars and asking for money had this button on his backpack.
IYAM Biden not resurrecting 400k dead people in the first 72 hours is a complete failure of this administration. What was he even doing in that basement if he wasn’t practicing necromancy?
You're not as smart as you think you are, especially in relative terms in these parts. There's a reason why you have the reputation you do. A wise man would reflect on that instead of continuing to solidify the reputation.
You know when you report cooked data? The moment you see it or even think it might be possible that it's cooked. Guess she got the infamy she wanted.
Have had my changed plenty of times here, but when responses don’t address the actual subject matter I take it as validation. Real world is messy, people have a hard time acknowledging implementation isn’t as clean as theory and get all bent of shape when it’s pointed out. It’s really easy to make blanket statements on the internet or at the lectern but life is more complicated. Altering my views to be a part of the club isn’t something I’m interested in. Thanks for the thoughtful response though!
You boiled down complex environmental issues to identity politics without any understanding of either position. What sort of nuanced response are you looking for?
It was literally the opposite of that, but to answer your question anything but Ben Shapiro. Original post was pointing out that policies meant to help oppressed minorities in this scenario (identity politics) can’t be cleanly applied to a group of people like many on here would have it. As a few people pointed out, making policy solely based on identity doesn’t account for differing viewpoints within that identity.
Please, tell us more about how policies aimed at blunting the impact of climate change are identity politics
You continue to ignore the environmental decisions and base it on identity politics. Will take you seriously when you prove you can be
You aren’t smart or clever enough to talk your way out of this. You made a lazy observation (as is par for the course with you), you got called out on it (in a pretty strong manner because this is a pattern of behavior) and you continue to double and triple down in a textbook and lazy way (because that’s who you are as a person). AIOLICOCK tried to help you out this morning with an insanely more stupid post but you just won’t take it. This might be the worst Whammy cycle yet.
Pointing out the irony of using oppressed Native Americans as a cudgel to whip up the base and then violating their sovereignty to achieve policy objectives as soon as power is achieved
.....climate objectives. I do think it’s a little gross to talk about Native American rights and then trample on them to achieve a policy outcome (climate). Not just Dems guilty of course, but try to call it out when I see it
