Who knew Tommy Fleetwood wasn't a terrible actor. Could've been a cringe worthy bit since it's 5 mins long but he did surprisingly well. Really just had 2 funny moments. When Matt Wallace quickly said "I think the caddy probably gave him wrong information". Also, Kaymer leaving immediately after seeing Hatten. Those were solid jokes.

Played 4 times in December and had 3 awful rounds and one great one by my standards. Played for the first time in January on Saturday.. Shot 115. Good for the ole handicap.
Just switched over to graphite shafts on my irons. Purchased the Taylormade RSi-1 regular flex. I'm not good enough to buy brand new clubs and these were reasonably priced. Somewhere around a 13 handicap, and my swing speed is not crazy high, so I thought this may be a good switch. Have had my current irons for about 6 years so thought it may be time. My only real reasoning was because I hit my woods much better than I do my irons. Anyone have experience with graphite shafts on their irons?
I have never personally looked into them but with how they can stabilize them now and add weight they should be fine
So that would be equity stake in the club? At least you are getting a Doak course and not some trash Fazio/Rees Jones course. There are hundreds of those charging that much up front.
Not unproven places with no other amenities besides golf and a modest clubhouse though. Is that $250k number real? I know he was asking for $80k early in The Buck Club process for Founding Members.
Brooks fired Harmon. Wonder what that deal is. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/brooks-koepka-splits-with-claude-harmon/amp
Ohopee and Congaree are going to be the comparable courses given the location, course design, and amenities. Neither are anywhere close to $250k. That’s an outrageous number.
Ohoopee is 5 grand a year but even members when they go play its 1000 bucks a day. All the golf booze food and sleeping arrangements are included though
They have some different levels. Guy that I’m friends with paid no initiation and has the fee structure I described above. He is a golf agent and his dad is the marker at the Masters so that probably helps. But another guy from Tuscaloosa has the same thing. They aren’t guaranteed a membership every year though for whatever that is worth
I had heard Ohoopee was closer to half that figure, but maybe that’s when it started. Congaree does a charitable donation that gives you all the same access a membership would. And it’s a lot less than $250k.
OHOOPEE MATCH CLUB BY THE NUMBERS: • 50 Total Members • 4000 Rounds of Golf Annually • $250,000 Founders fee • $5,000 Annual Dues • $1.5M Guest Room volume • $2.7M Gross volume • $155,000 Dues volume • $748,200 F&B volume • 47 Employees (FTE); 11 seasonal • $1000 per night for members and their guests – includes room, meals, and golf • $1200 per night for unaccompanied guests – includes room, meals, and golf https://www.flcmaa.org/commonapps/f...EFFINANCIALOFFICER-OHOOPEEMATCHCLUB-FINAL.PDF
That’s pretty interesting, can’t imagine the kinds of stories he has from all his years as a marker. I assume he has to be very successful in whatever it is he does off the course
Lee probably has one of the best jobs in america rn (I say that without knowing what his day2day is like, but I know Keith Mitchell and them rave about the setup they have on SSI)
These cash flow projections seems wildy generous. I'm an hour and a half away and have thought about doing something like this (not for 250k and prob not for 35k) or Chechessee one day.
Depending on how often you use Chechessee, Outpost might make more sense. Their members get to use Chechessee six times per year.
something seems off w Brooks to me clubs changed Fired his long time swing coach Obviously the injuries hope I am wrong but wondering if we see regression in his game next couple years
Have seen that. I'm not up to travel to capitalize on the rest of the membership and my in-laws have a cottage right up the road. My house is outside of the Chechessee local membership radius by like 3 miles, so there is a significant reduction in dues.
Regression has already happened, and quite frankly was always going to happen unless he was going to turn into Tiger out of nowhere. He might have other runs in him, but her was never going to keep up top 5s in every major and winning one a year.
