Oh shit. Josh Heupel just called me. Don't worry Josh. I'm keeping my season tickets for 2021. That's what true VFLs do. I bleed orange. Go Vols. Spoiler only because you already have my money because I paid for 2020 and then COVID happened
According to a source, UCF wide receivers coach Kodi Burns — who was just recently hired by the Knights to fill a vacancy on their staff — is a candidate to follow new coach Josh Heupel to Tennessee. It’s worth noting that Burns got the job at UCF over Vols TEs coach Joe Osovet, who also interviewed for it.
I'm loving the former players acting like Tee Martin not getting the head coaching job is some grave injustice. Let's have all the alumni and former players turn their VFL cards in
Everyone's afraid to say "this hire blows." In fact, unless the hire has some moral stigma attached to them, you almost never read a "x-school just made a terrible hire" article. It's always excuses or blind optimism.
Because the national college FB and BB media is in bed with the coaches and never want to say anything bad about them that might take away their access or connections unless the coaches don't play the game (see Harbaugh, Jim).
Just read that Kevin Steele is going to get kicked to the curb and get $900k for a solid 2 weeks on the job. What a sport.
Anyone who has followed Feldman, Thamel, Forde and others over the years didn't need those to know the deal. And we're just talking CFB here. ESPN's CBB coverage on television with the obvious bias their main guys have for guys like Cal, K, Roy, Boeheim, etc., is as obvious and egregious as it gets.
Probably because that one USA Today writer called USC's hiring of Pete Carroll a C+ and Alabama's hiring of Dennis Franchione a A+ back in the day. I'm sure that take was fun to deal with when USC was winning natty's and heisman's left and right while Bama was losing to pretty much every school in the state of Louisiana.
I believe that’s correct. No idea how it all works with us, UT, and the next school all paying him at once
how did this get approved? This made no sense at the time. Who allowed this to happen? Mind boggling levels of incompetence.
The lack of bro comments while refreshing and enjoyable makes me worried this finally sent him over the edge
I keep thinking the difference between Frost and Heupel and Danny White having a front row seat for it and he still was like I want to bring this guy with me. Frost took over a GOL's mess and in two seasons reloaded our roster with young talent everywhere, recruited the local area getting special players from our back yard, recruited our special QB from half way across the world, and had a team ready to run through a brick wall for him. Huepel was gift wrapped 2 special QBs and a loaded team full of sophomores and freshmen, destroyed the culture(half the team would gladly push him in front of a train), couldn't recruit Orlando even with us coming off 2 undefeated seasons, and was on the way to running us into the ground once Dillon Gabriel was gone. I really can't believe Tennessee hired this guy
Being Capt. Obvious, I think Tennessee had to hire him. You can’t afford 4 misses that leak in the media. After Elliott it had to be Heupel.
How many public misses did USC have before Petey Pablo got the gig? He was like 4th or 5th choice right?
Arkansas doesn't have a coaching search without at least four names saying no before the sun sets on the first day.
