Give me a little bit to answer this, I’m gonna need to watch highlights until 3am I wish we still had your boy, Poyer
I’m not an expert there, but I enjoy: Les Halles in France for a quick breakfast CF3234 insists I go to Via Napoli for dinner and say that it’s stupid expensive, but the best pizza you can find on the entire Disney property Rose & Crown makes a legit fish and chips. I forgot the name of the higher end spot in Japan, but heard the food is legitimately great. I don’t have a ton else to add, but that’s what I got.
Forgot about Sunshine Seasons. Nothing fancy, but pretty much everything I’ve had there was good. Just basic, quick lunches.
Le cellier will always be elite, and the cheese soup is a must eat at the flower and garden spot The pastry shop in the back of france is really good. Germany has great pretzels and beer America has a funnel cake stand that has really good specialty items of the season. Ex a funnel cake with maple ice cream and bacon on top.
Ditto on the pretzels, but my fat ass is considering grabbing some shitty nacho cheese at The Land and bringing it to Germany for that pretzel ha. Mustard is great, but I’m a plastic cheese sucker.
Doing a week at the Grand Floridian DVC end of April early May. Hoping Harmonious has started and Happily Ever After are back by then.
Heading down at the beginning of March with the roommate. March 4 - Fly in early in the AM - AK for the day - Late lunch at Yak & Yeti - Dinner at Raglan Road March 5 - Golf early at Magnolia - MK for the rest of the day - Dinner at The Wave (Contemporary Resort) *Hoping to do dinner then see if the bar on the top floor is open for drinks as I would like to see MK from this vantage point March 6 - Golf early at LBV - Epcot for the rest of the day - Dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel (though we have a reservation finder set for La Cellier for this dinner) March 7 - HS (have a reservation finder set for Oga's Cantina for lunch time) March 8 - Epcot - Fly out late in the evening
Eat at California grill instead of the wave oga’s is a bar with way overpriced snacks. Definitely a must do, but don’t plan on that being lunch.
Sounds like they might be opening up Ratatouille today or tomorrow? The kid from Mickey Views seems to be alluding to it opening.
Thanks for the suggestion on Cali Grill. I'll see if there is any availability. Been to Oga's before. Don't plan on eating there but just going around lunchtime.
Heard The Wave has a great breakfast, but I’m guessing with buffets shut down that it’s less than right now.
My sister sent me a screenshot from her Disney Moms FB account and it mentioned this and that they were planning to stop the Magic Express at the end of 2021. I really hope they don't end the Magic Express as that has been huge and I'm a big fan of it.
I believe this is what they are going to do to take its place. Train from MCO to Disney Springs and then bus to the resorts https://insidethemagic.net/2020/12/brightline-train-disney-world-tm1/
That sounds awesome though there are two issues. First, the obvious one, you have to hop a train then hop another bus before you are at your resort, so it's another step in the process for the consumer. Second, per the article you linked, the station for MCO won't be ready until 2022. Only then will they begin working on the station at Disney Springs, which leaves at least a few years without any transportation to the resorts outside of driving yourself or taking an Uber/Lyft.
I’d be shocked if Disney allowed a gap in service. Also it may be an extra step, but at least you now go straight to your hotel from Disney springs instead of having to go to each hotel on the express.
I bet the train is awesome and EMH will just become a paid feature which I, a sucker, will most likely purchase for some days.
I feel like they still need to find a reason to incentivize on property stays. I could see EMH coming back to resort guests, but moving to a MaxPass system for FP. Really do not want to go back to 180 days dining and 30-60 FP. I remember when Flight of Passage came out and FPs were being booked up at 63-64 days. That sucked
Just booked 5 nights at Wilderness Lodge in late April to take advantage of the free under 3 deal for our twins. Going to have to start training them on keeping masks on. First visit as an adult, will be monitoring this thread heavily. Hopefully my parents will drive over from Tampa for a night and give us a night out on the town, but kind of disappointing seeing how much may be closed still.
Looks like we are taking the four year old for the first time in March. Hopefully they continue to open more things.
Little by little, but I wouldn’t expect anything major. I’m still holding out stupid hope that Ohana might open (it’s not going to) by our trip at the end of March.
Yeah, I don't really feel like we are missing too awful much aside from the parade and fireworks at night. I'd much rather go in March instead of June if I'm going to be wearing a mask for 10 hours in the heat. I can sacrifice the parade for that.
My ex and her family used the parade and fireworks to hit up the bigger rides. I couldn't believe it. To me, the parades and fireworks shows are what make it. They are what bring back all the nostalgia. I think I had her mind changed by the time we broke it off, but don't know for sure.
I wouldn't expect Ohana to be open until after the Poly Refurb. They are currently using Ohana as an overflow seating area for Tambu Lounge. I believe the new France Pavilion could be open by EOM March. Seems like something they could roll out with Flower and Garden Festival. Haven't heard anything on Space 220, but at this point I can't imagine there is anything from a construction standpoint keeping it from opening.
Truthfully, we just want the bread pudding and it looks like Kona and Tambu are serving it, so we’re in business. :fat:
I literally did this yesterday, culminating with a socially distanced all you can eat extravaganza in the German Biergarten or whatever it’s called.
Reading some above posts about taking 3 and 4 year olds to Disney gives me bad memories. Man that is a shitty time overall. I can't wait to take my kids to Disney where they'll remember it... kids are 11 and 8 now, so, soon, maybe this summer.
Our girls remember the one day we drove over from Clearwater when they were 3 and 5, but yeah, that’s about as much as I recommend doing at those ages. Everyone is different, but the longer trips have been better with age. They’ll be 8 and 9 at the time of this trip coming up in 43 days.
We went on a ton of trips when the kids were 2-6 and had a blast. They don’t remember everything but when we go back they always recall things that happened that suprise me given how young they were. And even if they don’t remember, in real time they had the time of their lives, which was more than enough for the wife and I. Something about the 4-5 year old and character meets that you’ll never get at any other age. You’re missing out if you wait until you think they’ll remember it in my opinion.
