I know we have some Katatonia fans here. This may, or may not, interest you. Similar style of playing.
Wombripper is now my favorite Russian band. Their newest, while not better than the previous, was enough to give them the nod.
I'm such a dork. Sacha Dunable from Intronaut posted that he was selling a bunch of shit he doesn't need anymore, so I bought a pedal from him that I fundamentally don't need because I like the story.
An Earthquaker Arpanoid. I'm happy with my distortion setup currently, so it was one of the only pedals he listed that was some sort of modulation. It'll be fun to fuck with, but I highly doubt I would ever use it live or in a recording.
Found some random black metal band from France called Ferriterium, quite impressed with their 2021 release.
Only thing I hate about discovering new bands/releases is after listening to the album I find out they have 3 older albums and there goes my night.
A dude? lol. It's Jon Schaffer, he is Iced Earth. Also, side note I came across with this recent news, he's apparently made multiple guest appearances on the Alex Jones show.
had this in my youtube recommendations and thought it was pretty funny, probably already in the karen thread but I don't go in there since watching adults having temper tantrums typically just pisses me off
i listened to the EP from 2020 on Spotify this morning and it fucking slayed. the new album isn't on Spotify yet and the vinyl is sold out.
mid listen on the Soen album. whoever produced this album apparently doesn't believe in bass guitar. it's not bad but it definitely seems like an attempt to get into the popular spotify metal channels
they're trying to skate that nu-metal line like Katatonia and it goes the wrong way kind of a lot. the playing is good like you'd expect
I enjoyed it. I just thought the last album ruled and this one went in a distinctly different direction.
Switching it up and throwing it back here, but iyo which is the best Dokken album? Also the best Ratt album?
There's a whole damn thread celebrating the majesty of God's music: 80's butt rock (the moniker sounds ironic, my love of this music is, in actuality, far less so). The correct answers are Under Lock and Key, and Invasion of Your Privacy, respectively
this album is on Spotify now. really fucking good. it's like the epic scope of mid-era Dimmu Borgir, late-era Rotting Christ atmospherics, and melodic, Hellenic black/death metal riffs throughout. thank you for making sure i did not miss this burnttatertot
i listened to that yoth iria album and i enjoyed it mainly i just wanted to reiterate that the album art is sick
