No idea how there isn’t a thread on this, and seemingly no mention on the board. First DLC just dropped so the base game is on sale on PS for $23.99. I’m about 5 hours in and it’s so spectacularly weird and satisfying. If any of y’all played Alan Wake on Xbox 360, this is a spiritual successor that possibly takes place in the same universe? It centers around a fictitious government agency called the Federal Bureau of Control that is responsible for investigating “paranatural” phenomena.
Picked up the complete edition with all DLC on steam for 20 bucks yesterday. About 5 hours in. holy shit this game is really good and I love that it’s in the same universe as Alan Wake The Oldest House is a dope setting Really loving this game so far it’s so smooth
I dont think the next gen version is dropping until this spring. However, I do want to play this game.
13 hrs in playing with full ray tracing turned on PC. This game works my GPU more than Cyberpunk did and that is super surprising
Not really. Named enemies are going to rip your dick off and beat you to death with it early on so best to avoid them as long as possible.
One tip I would give doesn't have much to do with the gameplay. I'd just say to actually read all of the collectibles. The combat is a lot of fun, but the most enjoyment I got was reading all of the weird stories (was my first taste of SCP stuff). Also, be prepared for major stutters and frame drops, as it might be the worst I've ever experienced in a big game. I'm interested to play it on PS5 to see how much better it feels.
Control is a beautiful looking game. Haptic feedback with every step you take is awesome too. Very subtle vibrations.
Toggled back and forth between graphics and the performance mode. No way to go back to 60fps after seeing how gorgeous the ray tracing makes it look.
About 60-75% through. The collectibles could be my favorite part of the game. Trying to get it finished by the end of the week.
I've really been enjoying this. I know people are saying to read all the artifacts, but there's too damn many, lol.
I think I have collected somewhere around 125 so far. I'll have information dumps where I spend 10 mins going through all the unread information.
I'm a completionist, but give up if trying if a trophy is going to take a few hours or I have to replay a game (like Kingdom Come Deliverance). CUtigers has more plats than me. I'm always jealous and look at his trophies everyone couple weeks.
Pretty much the same. If the game changes drastically based on different play styles then I'll probably play it again but other than that I usually go for it if I can just do a little cleanup to get the trophy. Also, Odin and I were having a little battle last year to see who could get the most. He resorted to playing games such as Mr massage boy and my name is mayonnaise
ha. I platinumed two games on Sunday. Rogue Aces was a ton of fun. I also finished Control which was great. I saw you have a bunch of easy Plat's. Mine are all games that I wanted to play. I thouht about going through PSNow and clearing some of the Game of Thrones and Wearwolf ones, but not sure if I'd enjoy them.
I've never got platinum on a game unless it fell in my lap. I'm still like 4 odin's ravens away from Platinum on GoW. Been that way for 3 years. Usually too much tedious stuff like finding a bunch of random collectibles and what not.
The telltale games that I've played are all really fun with easy platinums. Pretty sure I have a Lego marvels platinum as well. Think it was my first one
Just finished last night. Comparisons to House of Leaves and Annihilation were pretty spot on. I just went with the main story but still have itch to play more. Any must play side missions or DLC? Edit: also the ashtray maze was one of my favorite gaming moments in years.
Never played those, but I’d be down for some Max Payne. My pre-teen mind had no idea what was going on, just kept grabbing painkillers
Playing on PS5. Looks real nice and performs well. I like how it just drops you into the game with little spin up. I’m about to go to the quarry.
Beat the main story. Really fun game. I kinda disliked the way you have to rotate between shooting and force powers but not too big of a deal. I have the free Ultimate edition so I’m not sure if that has the DLC or not.
