Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, calamari appetizer, both of us got bone-in ribeyes (wife added king crab to hers), creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes.
Which one of you drives a Subaru with the dump TMB bumper sticker on it? Wife said she saw it tonight with the TMB logo and “the basketball logo but not really”.
Anything to do here? Ran the Gate River Run this morning. Staying downtown. Saw the cool Treaty Oak. Had lunch at Bearded Pig which was good.
It's dope... & now have their beer/wine license. Wife & I go there regularly, now that we live in Avondale
If you are staying around downtown tonight, I'd just hit up 5-Points area... tons of restaurants/bars Rooftop bar @ River & Post, overlooking downtown, is about 2 blocks away Blacksheep (rooftop bar overlooking nothing, but WAY better food) Taqueria Cinco There are about a dozen other bars/restaurants on that strip... always a good time
Yeah but the food is horrid and they have all sorts of issues with dirty tap lines. It’s gone steadily downhill for years. Basically since they started that how Guzzleworks project or whatever it’s called
No it wasn't. The beer selection downstairs at Kickbacks is as good as any in the country. His bottle collection is absurd. You can buy 10 year old Cantillon there.
Big Meech The food is mediocre, the service is terrible & I’m 100% on board with them having dirty lines, but I go for the bottle selection. As dblplay1212 said, there are maybe 2-3 venues in the country that can compare.
I overstated the selection issue. But only because I’m floored someone suggested an out of towner visiting this neighborhood suggested that shithole. It’s a disgusting place and there are tons of nearby places to get a great drink and check out take t.
I asked if he liked beer. If you're a beer guy, you go there. You apparently hate it and that's fine but it's Disneyland for a beer guy. By your posts, I have to assume you're not much a beer guy and view it as a mediocre restaurant. I rarely eat there, and when I do it's a small appetizer to pick at. I don't go there to eat.
Lmao. If you are a beer Mecca, at least don’t have distributors threaten to stop selling to you because your facility is so filthy. That’s all I’m saying.
You realize the distributor, not the bar, cleans the lines right? This is pointless bc someone told you something so you think you know everything. And you're not a big beer guy so the place does nothing for you. Multiple people have told you're wrong but you'll stick to you're guns like you always do.
lmao. I’m not going to outpost you so I’ll be quiet. And your are pretty clearly friends with the KB guys if that’s your response.
By what response? The tap lines? That's from me being in the beer industry for a long time. It's based on states. I have no doubt that they are dirty bc distributors are awful about doing it but that's an all bars issue, not just one.
I’m pretty up to speed on the industry, hoss. Distributors must clean when they service the facility. In between, it’s on the retailer.
lol if you think many bars clean them on their own. Not sure how it is here, but is AL and LA, the distributor owns the equipment and the bars aren't supposed to clean them bc they can fuck them up and they don't even own them. And I know Steve, but we're far from friends. I enjoy going there bc I can order beers from his collection that I can't get anywhere else. He flies all over the world to meet breweries and they ship stuff here specifically for him. No store or other bars even get it. If you want a good dinner and a Bud Light, go somewhere else. If you want 2014 BCBS and 2012 Cantillon, go to Kickbacks.
I'm most upset for you causing me to agree with dblplay1212. When/if you go back, ask for "the Bible" and get something off that list
