Teenage sons insisted that I finish Clone Wars with them late last night. Good stuff. Not as emotionally crushed as I feared I would be On to Rebels
I'm at the start of season 3 of Rebels. Some great season 2 moments, but I like Clone Wars better to this point. Seems like that might be a differing opinion from a lot of the stuff I've read, but I just don't really like some of the main characters in Rebels as much as I liked the main people in most of the CW episodes.
Lol. Right there with you. Just got to s3 e2 in rebels. I don’t know what it is, besides characters... also feels... smallish? Isolated? Might just be that I’m still too traumatized by order 66.
The finale of S02 of Rebels is some of the best Star Wars, imo. Granted, its all because of TCW characters, but its so damn good
I don't mind the nature of the show. I just think the characters are kind of boring or annoying. The only one of the main characters I would say I like at this point is Sabine.
Rebels gets better as it goes, but it has a different feel than Clone Wars; smaller core cast and the central plotline isn't as sweeping. I didn't really fall in love with it until season three, so if you're only just starting s3, give it a chance to change your mind.
I watched rebels but didn’t love it. There were story points and episodes I loved but overall it was pretty young and I had a hard time staying with it. I’m glad I did now that they bringing all these characters back in live action
Watched the first 5 or 6 episodes of Rebels today. Went in with low expectations, ended up kinda liking it. One of my kids said that Rebels is just consistently OK, where Clone Wars is great when it's good and pretty bad when it's not (droid and JarJar episodes). They must have designed Zeb after one of McQuarrie's early Chewbacca renderings.
In the middle of season 3 of Rebels now. The hit rate in terms of quality for both Clone Wars and Rebels when Maul is involved is off the charts for me. He's awesome in these series. I think it was Jason Concepcion on Binge Mode who said the best deal in galactic real estate is the space Obi-Wan owns in Maul's head. The shrine to Satine on Dothomir cracked me up.
And at least 100000000x better than the other cartoon where they're on a space station in the ocean racing around it for fun.
Finished Rebels last night. I really enjoyed season 4. Kind of confused by some of the stuff at the end, but I'll go with it as it sounds like at least several of those people will be in the Ahsoka show.
So many great characters are connected to what will be the Ahsoka series. Personally, I cannot wait to see a live action Thrawn. He has been one of my favorite villains of all time since I read Zahn’s books when I was a kid.
Just finished part 1. I feel like a dumb dumb for taking so long to piece together chapter 1’s happening was what they were dealing with The interlude had some juice to it that I wasn’t expecting at all.
No it’s not, she’s a fixer. She sees the red flags like an obsessive about sand but thinks she can fix him. Obi wan is much to mature and stable and is a knight in the friendzone order as well as the Jedi order
Just finished season 5 of clone wars. For as wise as the Jedi council is supposed to be they’re some dumbasses
Yoda has some very rough moments in TCW, too. He's definitely better than Windu because he has some very good moments, but his run from pushing Ahsoka out to burying the Clone chip reveal in season 6 is as bad as any character in the show.
Nerrel is one of my favorite YouTubers. Usually he just does games-related stuff, but his videos on TLJ and, now, TROS are just golden.
Yeah. Ahsoka has maybe the best character arc in all of canon Star Wars. Character went from being much universally hated at her introduction to where we are now. She’s awesome.
Thinking of getting the new high republic books. Without spoiling anything any of you have some reviews if you have read? I have seen all the movies and watched all the cartoon, slight Star Wars nerd but never read any books prior to this.
Truman read it first week. I'm currently in part 2. I've never read the books either but I've enjoyed it so far
The first book was pretty good. It's 90% new characters and locations. Sets up some intriguing stuff. The 2nd book came out yesterday. I'll probably start this weekend
I can just imagine the brainstorming session they had and someone had to be like “why don’t we just show a picture?” And other people had to go “yeah, good idea Jeff” and then they all left the room
