My wife turned this on last week and watched 1 episode. It was one of the worst shows I have ever watched. A week later and I am still irrationally angry about how big of a piece of shit that show was.
I'm not sure Babylon Berlin was popular or discussed much here, but that show is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Can confirm. It’s a sensory overload. Great visuals, set in Weimar Germany. Lots of action, interesting storylines, and some general WTFness.
I am utterly fascinated by the music/night club scene of that time. Couple that with the absolute wild psychedelic psychotic flashes and such and it’s unreal. The time period and setting make for ultimate interest.
After Life may be my favorite show of the last several years. I can't believe I missed the release of season 2, especially at the height of quarantine, but finished last night. Amazing that it can make me laugh harder than I have at a show in forever, be absolutely heartbreaking, and at the same time be uplifting.
From the producers of Dark. Looks prettay good. 2074. In the wake of a mysterious global disaster, war rages between the Tribes that have emerged from the wreckage of Europe. Three siblings from the peaceful Origines tribe - Kiano (Emilio Sakraya), Liv (Henriette Confurius) and Elja (David Ali Rashed) - are separated and forced to forge their own paths in an action-packed fight for the future of this new Europa. Tribes of Europa premieres on Netflix on February 19, 2021.
Already had it on my list, did not know it was from the producers of Dark though. That should make it a must watch
Made it about halfway. Thought it was pretty boring and bad. Then I started to Barbarians, and am pretty underwhelmed.
Netflix is sure churning out some god awful movies. Watched Friendsgiving, Cut Throat City and Death of Me and good lord they all sucked.
Been watching this crime drama series called Intelligence. Decent enough concept but the rub is that it's a Canadian show and oh boy is it just hilariously stereotypically Canadian in every way. I'm the majority through season 1 (there's only 2 seasons) and no one ever gets arrested or busted and every bad guy is an informant for some agent or another. The main character...the "boss" who runs the drug ring also has fronts including a strip joint, shipping company, etc... Anyway, this drug kingpin guy is the most level headed, kindest, most empathetic, caring guy you would ever meet. It's not a good show but I'm gonna have to see it through. Oh Canada.
If you only knew how hilariously stereotypical your own shows are, even the american movies are like fast food. It’s just funny stupid so Americans can understand what is going on. i will not accept any criticism of canada when the us almost re-elected a fucking clown show.
Yikes! It wasn't intended to be a criticism of Canada. Just a humorous anecdote on a random Netflix show I'm watching. Unfortunate that you got your panties in a bunch over it.
I know what you were doing, I was doing the same the other way. Thought that was obvious. since I am Canadian sorry
A few years late, but wife and I just finished Imposters and thought it was pretty entertaining. Not a masterpiece but easy to turn on most nights after the kid was in bed for an episode or two.
I always assumed that the Sutton Hoo helmet was something from ancient Asia until actually seeing it in the British Museum and noticing its with all the Anglo Saxon, Viking Age stuff. I guess it was The Ninja Turtles nemesis Shredder that made me assume this, but then again those Turtles may be ninjas but they don't seem Asian.
Been watching a British cop show called Marcella that's p good. They go after a serial killer in the 1st season and it's 3 seasons.
congrats on being born in a country that took credit for winning ww2, american bravado is always so hilarious to me. plus if we are d league what does it make a country that elected an actual clown as president?
