my buddy broke 900DL and got an article on Barbend. the article says he competes at 231 but he weighs 270 now
Remember Shane from the Youfit days. See him at Momentum every now and then even though ‘guests’ still technically aren’t allowed. He must be special.
Hit a trap bar PR today, it was under 75% of what Julius benched(kinda) today Not trying to cry about it but shoulder is sore af after covid shot then workout
Eat your beef. Eat your carbs. Lift a lot of volume. Lift heavy. You too can rip your shirt in a meeting
it took me a minute before i realized it was the threads of the shirt and not an undershirt. i have blown quite a few elbows out on dress shirts and remembered them doing the same thing.
It’s always around the ball of my foot. The midsole then pulls from the shoe and they make this awful squeaking noise. I’m a bit hard on my workout shoes though.
It’s a good shoe for the average gym goer. Have had a pair for 2-3 years. Used them for lifting for a few months b4 switching to elevated heel and were fine. Use now for conditioning
Nike is also kinda hit or miss. Seen different reviews for versions and Romaleos 3 were a disaster while 4s are awesome Bought a near $200 pair of running shoes when I was into that like 5 years ago and fell apart without a ton of usage
Yeah my Metcon experience lasted from the first through third generation and I said no more. Maybe they’ve fixed it.
Im training at Atlanta Barbell and there’s som old dude in here grunting and doing cable rows. Where Eagles Dare you’re looking jacked
Seems to be a lot of better gyms popping up OTP. A guy I know from my LA Fitness days then randomly also at Atlanta Barbell seems to work out at countless gyms a week. Mostly Oly stuff. But with full dedicated platforms, good plates, and I assume bars
There’s so many OTP. Wish they moved in, but definitely more expensive. The Rack and ABB are really the only good powerlifting/oly/strongman gyms ITP
First meet in the "Master" class today. Got all the state records (for old guys). Squat and Deadlift felt good. Hit PRs in both (242.5 squat and 252.5 dead) and probably had a little more in the tank for squat. Bench is REALLY pissing me off. Still stuck at 162.5 and missed at 170. I should have tried something lower, but got stubborn because I've hit it before. I just cant feel solid at the meets starting from the unrack. I'm going to really work on my back strength moving forward.
Congrats on the PRs! That squat is growing, man. I feel you on bench. Im struggling with it as well. How many times a week do you bench?
Welp. Shoulder had been giving me problems. Just tried to do a push-up and couldn’t do one. Guess I’m going to a PT tomorrow
At least some variation 3-4 per week Like you, my shoulder has been fucky. I end up sleeping on it awkwardly a lot at night. Going to have a procedure in a couple weeks that should help me breathe easier and hopefully sleep on my back more.
im having the best run of squats ever the last 5 weeks. added an amrap at 65% after my top set and single leg stuff to my accessories. deads going well too.
PT appointment went well. Good news: I don’t have shoulder cancer Bad news: my bench still sucks hes got me doing a lot of mobility stuff to let my shoulder move more freely through the ROM. Gonna do block work for bench for the time being
It’s awesome. I’m gonna use it a lot. The Kbox is what I’m most excited about though. Thing is so cool.
DB RDLs with slow eccentrics going all the way to the floor, nasty bitch Hit a 495 conventional where I lost a thumb midway, surprised I got it up.
Programming question for you fellas: I'm doing 5/3/1 and after my top set, I do an AMRAP at 65%. Usually that is a weight I can get 10 reps out of, but sometimes on bench or ohp it is only 8-9. Would it make a lot of difference if I went at 70% or even 75%? I suppose the best answer is try it for a while and see how it goes. i am definitely nitpicking a program that has worked for me so far.
