Never even heard of this place. Chamblee Def blew up the last few years. That crowd too you and too pour for Brookhaven
Yeah, always enjoyed it. My wife had a work dinner at Rathbun's Italian place in Peachtree Hills and said it was fantastic
It was always dead when I went but the meal itself was always damn good. It was kinda odd to have two restaurants that are fairly similar right next to each other. He should have pivoted and made Rathbuns more casual and gone all in on the beltline crowds.
Their lack of a patio really hurt but because of how that lot is graded I’d imagine it’d be a nightmare trying to add one. Fully agree with the pivot idea though. Having said that, Rathbuns had the best brussel sprouts I’ve ever had. They were like salt and vinegar chips and I have no idea how they did it.
I’ve been sitting on pretty substantial Rathbun group gift card since May but the food/experience is too good to sully it with takeout and I’m still not quite there yet wrt dining out. Would be interested to hear Freak’s experience
I’m thinking maybe they boiled them in vinegar/water mix before adding salt and bacon. But I’m just a professional chef
Went to Lady Diver last night and it was fantastic. They also don't have a liquor license yet so the drinks are free currently
The Rathbun's (not steak) was not very good. If someone wanted that type of food, I'd recommend One Eared Stag which is close to it and much tastier imo.
Rathbun's and Krog Bar pre Beltline era was epic I miss those days. That whole area has been killed by people trying too hard.
Thats good to know. We did El Tesoro over there last night just due to familiarity. Have always wanted to do a Half or Whole Bird there.
Wife and I got the whole bird (comes with rice and beans, chips, salsa, and tortillas) plus queso and guacamole. Will easily get 4 meals out of it if not more. Not too bad price wise either all things considered.
I would describe Lingering Shade as filled with people who took an Uber XL with their dog down from Brookhaven
Walked up there the other day and got the wings that they warn you about on the menu and uh, it turns out I'm a huge pussy. Tough way to find out but glad I know now.
