This week has sucked so far. Sheet of ice on all roads and walkways, way too cold for dogs to be outside, at least 6-8” of snow on Monday-Wednesday and temps won’t get over 20 degrees. I passed about a dozen accidents on the interstate on my way home from the Fayetteville area on Tuesday night.
My hometown in the Oklahoma panhandle is forecasted for 15-20” this weekend. Might still have time to make it there for a visit.
People shouldn’t be driving on ice unless you’ve got salt or sand trucks out no matter where you are. Real dangerous even for people used to it.
it happened in the matter of an hour or two here last night. i don’t think anyone really expected all the ice and it’s just been a shit show ever since. i’m from west texas so i’m a little used to it but i’ll be damned if i leave my house until like saturday to drive with these people who have no clue what they’re doing
I’ve been in conditions where I was on my brakes for 2/3 of a block driving 15 mph and still blew past a stop sign. Shit ain’t to be trifled with.
took my dog out last night and had no idea there was any ice and almost busted my ass decided i’m not going anywhere for several days then
It has been in the forecast for days. I was telling people on Monday that I would not be out working on Thursday-Tuesday if the forecast held up. How did people not expect it?
iirc they didn’t change the forecast to ice until later yesterday and it was just rain/possible freeze. i don’t think anyone thought it’d be this cold
No. Just moving to a bigger place in the same complex but on the other side of our park. Just gonna be cold and it’s just me, my wife and MIL so basically I’m moving a bunch of furniture by myself in the cold
I did this one morning about 11 years ago or so. I was on my way to work. Immediately turned around, went back home, and called out for the day.
My dad got it when he was living in North Dakota. Rebuilt the carburetor on it last winter, got it fired up this summer. Still needs some work, but I plan on using it for a weekend fishing truck once it's licensed and such. This truck is the reason I was able to mark off "start a truck with a manual choke" in the how country are you thread.
Wife missed being in the middle of the Fort Worth pileup by minutes this morning. She has a bunch of coworkers that were involved in it
Also forgot to mention my MIL got here last night and plans on leaving Sunday. Luckily she took the southern route to get here and avoided OK and Dallas but hoping it’s cleared up more by then.
She left the house at 5:40 and took 35 south into Fort Worth. She couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes ahead of it
that vid made me sick to my stomach when that truck plowed in and demolished those cars those people had to have died
How in the fuck were the highways not shut down? Greg Abbott just wanted to kill more Texans or something?
