I play about once a month or so and am a 20 handicap. Upgraded the clubs from a 7 year old set of Aeroburners to new M6 set. Look forward to hating these clubs and blaming them for how terrible I am in the coming months.
Going in for a putter fitting at club champion on Friday. Excited to see how wrong I’ve been on putter selections. Haven’t decided yet though if I’ll for sure purchase something new on Friday through them or wait...kind of hoping the results will show that I have the right putter and we just need to make a loft/lie change or height change.
Yeah I watched the whole thing. I think they used pretty much every shot from Ribiero and he was a couple under on his own. He went driver, wedge, one putt on a par 5 that Nantz swears “wasn’t all that up from the back tees”
What's interesting is he plays in that celebrity tourney in Tahoe every year and never sniffs the lead. To be fair some of those celebs like Steph Curry, Mark Mulder, Mardy Fish, are damn good golfers but still...you'd think he would be a part of that group if he was as good as claimed.
Really pulling for this kid. Whammy Business and I have played many a round at this course in Tallahassee and I definitely remember seeing him around. That complex they show is rough as hell.
They did, it’s really good. Also Strapped last night had a collegiate player who is going to the APGA after graduating too, which anybody should check out if you’re unfamiliar with the program as well.
Besides about 15 people on the tee sheet, you could have told me that this was a Korn Ferry event and I would've believed you.
New Strapped is the course we were members at when I was in high school (almost ended Bowden's life with a thin sand shot on the practice green there). They lost membership when nee courses opened and it started to go down hill in thr late 2000s, hoping it is in decent shape for the episode
Looked like it had good bones but the golf in the episode kinda sucked because of the aforementioned conditions.
Not sure if they finally closed one of them but there used to be three 9s so you could play 27 no problem
Yea, grew up a mile down the road on Shannon Lakes. Killearn had the North, South and East 9s. Iirc they were talking about shutting down the North to build houses once membership declined. Southwood took a lot of their members I believe
This is awesome. I think that’s the complex right next to hole four. Had a kid wander up to me on the fairway one round and ask me if he could earn a dollar. Said “Sure thing, bud. As soon as I slice this shot, you can fill the divot.” He thought the box of sand on the cart was pretty cool.
Why in the hell was the ladies team playing from the same tees? That was bullshit. They had no chance.
So I have an email saying hey we cancelled your fitting with no explanation. Rather pissed right now.
Putter. Called they couldn’t give me an answer. But the could schedule me for an hour later.which had they just called and asked me to move I would have been fine.
Cantlay has a 44.3% chance to win this week according to Data Golf. I'm not sure I've ever seen odds that high after a Thursday before. I guess that's what 'by far the best golfer in a very weak field has a multi-shot lead after one day' looks like.
-6 was the best round at Spyglass today. if weather shows up that draw might be huge. (Cantlay may just run and hide too)
Just booked Lawsonia Links for Saturday of Ryder Cup weekend. - Thursday - going to practice round - Friday - Erin Hills - Saturday - Lawsonia - may audible to a local Milwaukee course if we want to avoid 90 minute drive each way. Drinking at a lake while watching football/golf is also on the table
Have now played 6 rounds with arccos, they were scrambles so I didn’t save them but the data they show is awesome and highly recommend
tell me more, I am curious how practical is the product and would the sensors hold up to wear and tear? And essentially the system tracks every shot and provides analytics and then eventually tips on the course?
Not sure why they would wear and tear except on the bottom of the bag so that should be fine. and yes it tracks shots and the more you use it the more in depth it will get. It can show you SG data for all parts of the game and help figure out what you need to improve, give true yardages and suggest clubs based on wind/elevation changes etc
How does it distinguish between a practice swing and real swing? Also, do you have to have the phone on you or anything?
Appreciate the insight sir how about range shots, assume you can just delete that data? And it would not be able to measure distance on range would it? Distance would have to be based on traveling to the next shot
Doesn’t do range shots. It measure distances by sounds, so you hit walk to your ball and then when you hit again it stops the old measurement and starts a new one. I used arccos for most of last season after getting my new clubs and I love the system. Sometimes the caddy feature is a little buggy though. I love the stat track it does especially with regards to your “handicap”. also if you think the sensors will be annoying on the end of your grips you can always buy in grip sensors and new grips.
This looks like something I’d like to waste money on. Will check it. notice they have grips with whatever built in. I use Winn wrap style on my irons. Is there an alternative?
