I’m pressing hash that was dried in a freezer, not a freeze dryer. There can still be pockets of moisture when pressing the hash, which is why I get more of a shatter and crumble like rosin instead of what you posted. It also could just be the strain.

Pressing flower is a different story but I don’t get a good enough yield on the low temp to justify pressing flowers.

how are you drying it in the freezer. isn't it just a frozen block of melt x water? you don't have water rushing off the plate when pressing?

 

No, we are good. The hash is in the freezer for 7-10 days at minimum. I’m perfectly happy with my end product, just saying my consistency is different, and so is my method.

This is just a hobby and personal use. I’m not about to fork out money for a free dryer or low temps new washer just to see if my consistency is any different.

Yeah, I roll my own. I've been rolling my own around 20 years now. It did take a bit to get it right in the beginning.

I started smoking in 1997 as well. Summer before my sophomore year of college.
