I think he’s “only” getting paid like $700k and DW was at 1.3 million when he left. Greene could almost double his salary I guess?
guy has one hell of a resume at Arkansas State and has done a ton of fundraising for their facilities. He got Arkansas to agree to a game as well. Saw one post where in 2012 Arkansas State had 400K in donations his 1st year there and they just eclipsed 9 million this past year. In addition, he is in his final year of sitting on the college football playoff committee so he has quite the network of influences around him
Mohajir has a buyout of $500,000 if he were to leave for any school that is in the Group of 5. If he were to leave for a job at a Power 5 conference the payout starts at $175,000 and falls to $150,000, $140,000, $130,000 and $120,000 the next four years. Interesting
I guess they thought he was a good enough AD they wanted to make sure he was going to move way up instead of to a rival/competition
So if this guy is such a good AD, and he has a pocket change buyout for a P5 school, why we hiring him and not, for example, tennessee?
I didn't even remember that our basketball team was still playing games ... Or really college basketball in general
It’s weird, our coach and AD both bounced, Milton is starting for FSU, last season was a total letdown, yet I’m totally pumped for the direction of things now. I’m all about this dude as AD seems like we made a good hire. Will be interesting to see who the coach is next
I feel the same but it was even before the hire. I just didn't expect the national response to DW and JH leaving to be "this is a must have job and people will be beating the doors down to get it". So now it's no surprise we seemed to make an absolutely great hire.
I doubt any coach would say someone is the starter heading into their first spring with the team. He might be though.
Ironically the one nonofficial UCF account I even follow is the barstool one and I hate everything else barstool. But the UCF account is pretty funny
It sounds like the rest of the team has bought in, even the defense and they had multiple players tweeting that Randy Shannon better stay. Is Randy gone or still on staff?
he went all in on Lebby on Twitter, now that that isn’t who his coach is, he is probably just laying low and eating some humble pie
Profile Pic back to UCF! I gotta say losing Danny upgraded us in FB, and we got a lot more free press. Pretty happy with the way everything turned out.
Gus bringing back Darrell Wyatt for WR coach spot. Brought in this guy as a “defensive assistant,” but not sure if he’s whole DL or just DT coach. https://wkusports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/kenny-martin/494
Fair or not Tennessee is going to be horrible under him and he will get run out of town because of it. Of course someone will just hire him somewhere else because you can't fail in these jobs but still so dumb.
Think he means Danny but in either case not sure how those senators will feel about those BLM patches we wore under their leadership last season.
I really don't get why coaches take jobs where they know they won't succeed to a point that they'll have a job for more than 4 years. Kinda like Gus at Auburn; multiple SEC-W titles, multiple NY6 bowls but you can't beat arguably one of the top 3 coaches so youre out. And Hype thinks he can do better than that at Tenn?
Because who gives a fuck when you’ve made $15 million and you can spend the rest of your days making mid six figures as just as a position coach and retire at 50?
College football is like impossible to fail out of. Assistant pay is crazy now. Failure literally doesn't matter. Our head coach is gonna make like $14 million this year.
