Wonder if the Kings have a look. They have the prospect pool to make it work and close to enough cap space. Something like Byfield, a first, and Madden, with a cheap player as a throw in to make the cap fit?
Kings and the Rangers make the most sense. But whatever it ends up being, it will be a massive return.
I was unaware of this. Tyce and Tage. I bet their parents are obnoxious Random story - there’s a StL sports podcast I listen to that has one of the Blues old ass beat writers from the newspaper on occasionally. He pronounces Tage “Ta-zghey” and it drives me nuts. Idk how to phonetically spell it but he says it with a soft g like the French do. It’s like nails on a chalkboard.
Rangers would have to probably offer something that’s like 10% more than any other team, and that’s at a minimum. Just not sure that fanbase could handle Eichel going to the Rangers.
It would at minimum cost Lafreniere. Getting the recent #1 overall pick even if he hasn't lit the world on fire just yet is a pretty good selling point.
Laf and Fox are probably the least likely players on the roster to get moved, so we’ll see how it goes.
It's also Jack Eichel with 5.5 years of team control and no NTC. Anyone that trades for him is going to pay multiple pieces they don't want to trade.
I think the most interesting scenario for an Eichel trade is not necessarily who’s willing to put the best package together for Eichel. But who is willing to take an Okposo or Skinner contract in return. Those could be spicy trade moves.
This is my secret hope for the Wings. Detroit could easily take on Skinner, especially if Mantha is part of the deal. Mantha + the 2021 first for Eichel and Skinner seems reasonable
Since I have nowhere else to bitch about this - The following are all out w injury Tarasenko Thomas Schwartz Bozak Blais Parayko And Krug is a game time decision This is not fun
I’m watching Darren Helm, Frans Nielsen and Marc Staal play 15 minutes a night, so I mean, fuck off here
That's a good thing. Youre trying to tank Im watching Kyle Clifford, Mackenzie MacEachern and your boy De la Rose play for a team trying to win
Imagine the team the Sabres would the days following a trade of hall and eichel. Might be all-time bad. I’m honestly pretty unemotional about the Sabres these days. They were my first sports love. 98 finals, great teams in the 2000s. But the last 10-11 years have sucked the soul out of my fandom.
You are essentially getting Eichel for 19 million aav. Even at that reduced return, I don’t think it’s enough.
