Yes, it was a glib generalization for likes. I'm sure they're doing much more work on this than I did for poli sci classes in undergrad.
Our local CVS affiliate was suppose to start administering doses this week and cited the situation in TX as reason for the delay.
The guy who helps run Bloomberg's vaccine dashboard is becoming more optimistic about a huge amount of doses being delivered by Pfizer and Moderna as promised.
On just as serious of a note, I bought my gf some of those Kill Bill yellow sneakers weeks ago and they’re citing the weather as a reason for the delay in shipping. Come on, motherfuckers.
if my numbers are correct, this means that two doses of pfizer or oxford cut transmission by four-thirds
MN just rolled out their vaccine connector program to track people and communicate when and where they can go get vaccinated. I suspect this is due to the impending expansion beyond the current groups. So go sign up MN tmb'ers.
Looks like Georgia just did the same as well. That's going to be so much more helpful rather than people blasting a thousand county and doctors' offices. https://myvaccinegeorgia.com/
was supposed to get my second dose this past Saturday but they shut down due to weather (there wasn't bad weather yet). Was rescheduled for today (roads are at their worst today due to the ice)
Wife and immediate family all signed up yesterday. I work in healthcare and received my second vaccine dose yesterday.
it seems like they’re just hoping we forget about the $2k they owe us. or i guess i should say the $1400 they now allegedly owe us
I know we have posters in Illinois here, they just put a bunch of additional professions as essential workers and able to get the vaccine.
Great. But where the fuck can I get signed up for a shot? The appointment scheduling is the problem right now.
I’ve heard people are getting appointments in Naperville. Also if you want to venture down to the state capital there are open appts you can sign up on the sangamon county public health website
Just do this https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/19/us/florida-women-vaccines.html Maybe it was the bonnets. Or the gloves that the two women donned, though the temperatures in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday hovered in the 60s. In a scene right out of a sitcom, the women went to a coronavirus vaccination site “dressed up as grannies,” said Dr. Raul Pino, the health administrator for Orange County, at a news conference on Thursday. Except they were 34 and 44, not over 65, so despite their get-ups, which included spectacles, they were ineligible to get the shots in Florida. However, the ruse may have worked before. The women presented valid Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cards indicating that they had already received their first vaccine doses, Dr. Pino said, who did not name them. “I don’t know how they escaped the first time,” he said.
We’re not reaching herd immunity by April and you can’t add infections and vaccinations to calculate herd immunity. Incredibly stupid.
less than 72 hours out from shot 2 once i am immune, megan fox can french kiss me all she wants i will not stop her
I don’t respect selfish beliefs that negatively impact others. You don’t wear a mask to primarily protect yourself you dumb bitch
Got my second dose at 2pm yesterday. Felt great until about two hours ago. Headache and fatigue. Some lightheadedness.
Just got second dose of the moderna vaccine. I’ll pop in every now and then to let you guys know how my journey into autism progresses.
Was also very impressed how the county (Tarrant in DFW) handled this. Pretty streamlined process. From the time I pulled up to vaccine in arm was only 37 minutes. First dose was about double that, but the line was much longer.
update on this. 8 days later still no results. She did get a seperate instant test Friday, 6 days after her first test, that was negative. Her original test was done at Walgreens. If they do a test Saturday, they hold it until Monday. Then they ship it to a lab out of state that is far enough from Florida that the weather delayed the ability to ship it. No phone call or any sense of urgency. The people in those batches that were positive will have to wait until things get really bad to go to a hospital and might be timed out of key treatment because of it. This bad weather wasn’t a tornado or earthquake. Like a hurricane, we knew bad weather was coming. Business contingency planning is pathetic with this.
I am legitimately wondering what your thoughts are on this. Israel has released a couple of these news headlines now because they're tracking their data so thoroughly for Pfizer. I know this isn't peer-reviewed and published yet but it's another datapoint that is being added to a growing body if evidence. It seemed like it would be silly to assume that it didn't help prevent some spread, but I'm hoping that well see that it significantly reduces it.
pfizer vaccine is 99% effective at preventing deaths? Isn’t that the normal survival rate without the vaccine? Or is this looking at some higher risk group?
