Attached is the pic of the mtn brook line, it was snowing by that point, and the guy that took the pic estimated between 250-300 people by the time they opened.
I keep thinking I have seen the worst of it but there is always a new low. People are camping out now for Blantons and BT. People bragging about snagging their unicorn Blanton and paying $125
So I got some glencairn whiskey glasses but I didn't realize how tiny these things are. It only holds 6 oz. Is that normal? I mean I know it is for drinking it neat and I'm not making cocktails or anything. Just shocked by how tiny they are.
Found it, a good chunk of the thread uses these. They go on sale pretty often https://kybourbontrailshop.com/official-bourbon-tasting-glass.html#.YC8NdGQ8KEc
Get this. Never look back. https://kybourbontrailshop.com/official-bourbon-tasting-glass.html#.YC8Nu-lKjdc
I like these too: https://norlanglass.com/products/norlan-whisky-glass?variant=24374421127 And I also have a whiskey glass from my work team that’s more of a rocks size. I like drinking from all of them, but I’ll go to the Glencairn for properly snooty tasting.
Thanks. Those are 8oz so only 2 oz bigger than what I got. I guess they are all pretty tiny. For some reason I thought they were bigger. Will look like a right proper cunt drinking out of these tiny glasses.
Definitely meant for neat. I had four of these maybe poured to 3oz tonight and feeling good. Granted I am drinking about 140 proof so there is that,
The official tmb bourbon glass definitely seems much bigger compared to the standard Glencarin. Love the wider mouth too.
The wider mouth is key for me. I have both and my glencairns are far more expensive, it I never use them anymore. I just feel that these are the perfect drinking glasses.
Has anyone seen these beauties anywhere? It looks like it may be an airport release? Saw them posted for sale at $285, but they list for about $70 I think for a liter.
I was tempted to buy one from a store in the Netherlands but decided not to. It’s apparently very good.
that is rough....Alabama is state controlled. They typically will have lower end allocated bottles hit stores randomly along with a big release day of the mid and higher end allocations at the handful of specialty stores once a year. Someone had the bright idea to put out a list the second week of the month with the allocated bottles each store in the state would get and the week of delivery. This has led to long lines of people trying to buy blantons, owa, stagg jr, etc....
10 year Elijah Craig store pick today, nothing special, but they had it mixed in with the normal bottles so had to look at label carefully.
