It’s basically what you get when you combine gambling, NBA, cryptocurrency, FOMO and a user base that is taking off at a level that they didn’t anticipate this fast.

This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I just wanted to snag Pistons and former Spartans and I’m priced out of that. I’m not paying hundreds for a Langston Galloway jump shot

They should. Luka has had a few assists since the last time. Heck Trae Young even made a shot since the last time they had a drop. 15,000+ people will want those.

Hear me out. You can be into it for collecting, and ALSO enjoy the seeing the sales skyrocket.

The downside is I will likely not be able to collect much more because us normal folks are being priced out.

I think Beckett came around in '84 as a photocopied/stapled couple sheets, wasn't too much of a thing when I started. It certainly became a thing shortly thereafter.

Coming hot on the heels of the alt-coin craze, which saw millions of regular Joes, including posters on this site (not to mention Wall St Bets), take a bath, it’s not unreasonable to offer a few words of caution, IMO. You also need to factor in that the recent explosion in paper card valuations has a lot to do with nostalgia and the desire of the early-millennial demo for analog memorabilia.

Buuuuuut, it’s a damn fun ride, and I’m here for every second of it. Now someone tell me where my g’damn Austin Croshere dunk mix is. I’ll even accept a Jamal Tinsley lob assist.

To be honest, I’m a little concerned about the insane growth the past few days. I got into this thinking moments would appreciate in value, but definitely not this quickly. This is absolutely not sustainable and in order to be sustainable, the collections need to be accessible to anyone off the street.

Not having packs available and the cheapest moments in the market being $30 is a huge problem, and it’s going to be tough to figure out where to go from here.

The packs used to be available until a month ago. They weren’t ready for this kind of growth. They gave *everyone* a moment that’s selling for 350

And not being able to cash out. It's getting out of hand

Randle I sold for for 150 is now 750
Rui 250 is now almost 500
My Dillon Brooks which just sat in the marketplace and finally sold at $2 is now $21

I'm not an economist but you have:

    - A supply that is not growing (1 pack drop / week that hardly anyone has access to)
    - Swell in user base
    - Don't yet have the ability to move money off the site

Probably helps explain why everything is 400% more expensive than it was on Friday and why this could keep getting even more ridiculous if they don't fix the supply issue
