I just assume WWE has been very happy with Drew as champ, but felt bad he didn’t get his moment with the title in front of fans. This is there way to do right by him.

He was this close to a Hall of Fame induction, too. Probably two or three years away. He's going to miss out on that sweet, sweet, 30k a year Hall of Fame/Legends Contract that forces him to show up on Raw with a day's notice to work a two minute backstage segment.
Is tonight a taped show? I think it would've been better for him to just show up on the show tonight instead of ruining the surprise. Not expecting much out of him, but I sure as shit didn't expect to see him on AEW's roster today.
Taped show. They are doing another YT show on Monday’s that he will be commentating on, but the plan is for him to wrestle occasionally. As an aside, Show’s WWE ECW run was fucking sweet as hell and it’s not talked about enough.
Punk went on that whole diatribe how he was texted an offer, and Punk thought that was unprofessional. I assume he pissed a lot of people within AEW off when he said that. Of course, I doubt that would stop AEW from hiring him, but I think it makes it more likely that Punk would need to actually show them that he’s interested in a return.
If Punk is serious about making him an offer and the company actually wants to improve their rating, why not take the money you paid 62 year old Sting and washed up Big Show and give that money to Punk?
For as much as people love some of the guys involved, I don't think aew is a particularly well run or booked program. Most of the guys who they got from wwe did not end up better than they were in wwe.
Correct. There isn't one in baseball either. Doesn't mean teams should go out and sign Ken Griffey Jr. to a big money deal. He isn't going to help them win games. If I can sign Mike Trout for the same money I am signing Ken Griffey and Frank Thomas for, I would probably sign Mike Trout.
The Punk hype is played out. One MMA drubbing didn’t ruin him and the second one even was fine, but he has talked and acting himself to death on wrestling. Some of the comments were petty on wrestling. The stuff on AEW was cringey and the Fox half return wrecked the shock factor. There just isn’t the intrigue there. What would be the angle? I’m sure it would get some attention but it’s a % of what it would have been in 2015-2018.
Sting doesn’t put on makeup at an event he is booked at for less than 5k extra, he isn’t showing up to Dynamite every week for chump change.
Also, it’s a multi year full time deal. He doesn’t need the money. If he turned down a new WWE contract along with the royalties of his merch sale, he is making a shit ton in AEW.
While I agree if he returned now it wouldn't be the same if he did it before, but it would still be a hell of a lot bigger than a 60 something year old Sting or a 50 year old Big Show. Other than an initial pop for them showing up (which they didn't even get with the big show), who wants to see them in the ring? And really, why spoil Big Show joining on Twitter? So dumb

Curious if NXT will have any representation on Mania double night. Seems like they won't. Maybe they do a Take Over a few weeks later. Either way the TV coming out of the last TakeOver has been pretty strong. Nice job with Kross, Cole tonight. I love me some Johnny G and The Way. And Cameron Grimes is low key the most entertaining man in wrestling. The Million Dollar Man stuff was great.
Johnny has come a long way as a Character. He's fantastic. I'm not sure you can name 5 talents who have been in as many classics as Johnny has since 2015. Not only as a singles wrestler (his match with Almas is the greatest match i've ever seen in person) to his tag matches as DIY
