So maybe they recruit the wrong kids, Nd is now a top 5 program. Qbs should be calling to get a scholarship
Yes they haven’t recruited qb well enough that’s definitely true that’s what’s so fucking frustrating with Kelly, outside of Golson I’m not sure he took a high risk high reward qb recruit he needs to
i think he did with jurkovec and we see how it ended up. Buchner also fits that profile and they really can’t miss with him.
Wimbush almost set the high school completion percentage record his senior year. QBs are just hard to evaluate
ND not trying to recruit top QBs is a myth. BK has recruited and landed highly rated QBs. Some flipped, some left (Jurk) Gunner Kiel flaked, some, like Wimbush and Golson, never lived up to the promise or hype. The fact that as pointed out above, most whi transferred were worse after leaving leads me to believe the players themselves hold some blame. Yeah, QB recruiting is important, as is development. But evaluation can be such a crap shoot. It seems more and more that outside of Clemson and Bama, the best QBs in the nation are guys that came out nowhere and outperformed their rankings, or they are transfers. Look at Fields and the run of QBs at Oklahoma for example. I think this was a good year for ND to dip their toes in the QB transfer market. That trend isn't going anywhere, and hopefully they're willing to fill holes or take advantage of an opportunity when it comes up.
i never watch film, it seems futile to me because I know nothing Jon snow but his was so fun to watch. He had some crazy throws in there. one of my favorite recruit...and then it all went to shit in half a season
Fine. Take Golson out from Wimbush, Kiel, Jurk, and any other highly rated QBs ND offered, if they didn't land. (Hunter Johnson anyone?) That completely proves the myth that ND doesn't try to recruit top QBs.
Show me a guy who plays craps for 10 years without winning and I’ll show you a guy who objectively bad at craps.
Yeah I got Thai last night so I hear you. Had the leftovers for lunch too. In fact if I’m posting today you can guess where I’m sitting.
This team is infuriating, they have talent and they run out on people like this, then, total collapse, just wait.

I seem to recall football having a similar streak of not beating ranked teams between Weis and into Kelly. Maybe I’m misremembering
might I thought you meant currently yes they had a top ten streak for awhile, think it ended with Oklahoma
nd shut that down and diaco probably did not even know that the other team could put 5 wrs on the field at the same time.
as a general rule of thumb i just hope everyone sucks unless they play for notre dame. saves a ton of time - highly recommend.
I believe so. Don’t play that close attention, but it seems like we hit this last head coach hire. We were off to a great start last year and seem to be doing that again. And have a good recruiting class coming in I believe
So I'm confused. Did we take Angeli's commitment setting Allar up to commit to Penn State, or did Allar go silent to Penn State last week setting us off to take Angeli's commitment? If it's the latter I'm less mad even though this worked out poorly for us.
I don't really follow recruiting but just looked at the 2023 QBs on 247 in their early top 100. Doesn't seem like we've got a shot at any of them except there's one kid from DeMatha Catholic. If this was Brey, we'd have a good shot to finish second.
