it’s better than BH2 and BH3 doesn’t even count, but BH is better than Harlem. Subjective opinion though of course
The movie’s humor is centered around his goofy laugh, it’s the equivalent of having a laugh track in a sitcom. His interaction with Serge in all 3 are solid though. Trading Places and Coming to America are interchangeable at 1. After that you have Harlem Nights, 48 Hours, Life, and Golden Child in no particular order. IMHO GBR
This is an awful opinion. The original Beverly Hills Cop is a classic and it’s “minor funny parts” are legendary. “What's the charge for getting thrown out of moving car, jaywalking?!”
I stuck a banana in my dads tail pipe and he knew it was me right away. I tried to blame it on my 6 year old little brother. My dad said I was in trouble either way. Either for doing the banana trick or letting my brother watch a movie we weren’t supposed to.
finished it, it tried to thread the needle of doing something different but hitting similar themes while paying tons of fan service it was fine pulling one of these movies off as a sequel is near impossible so in that context its pretty good
Honestly it wasn’t bad, seemed like just a fun movie and the actors seemed to enjoy the characters they played my biggest complaint was that the son was really poorly acted
I mean I get the family message and soft writing, but movie could have been really funny if they made the American side more vulgar or hood for lack of a better term. Really play up the fish out of water scenario. David Sheffield has written some great films, but a 70 year old nerdy white guy from MS may not have been the one for this one even though he helped write the original. He’s been semi retired for good while. Last movie he wrote was 2005 and 2000 before that.
My wife was dying at the mcflurby, they missed a huge joke there if the machine would’ve been broke instead of working
Yep we said the same thing, a simple “we can never get these things to work at any location” or “damn thing is always broke” something like that when he went to make it.
I didn't hate the movie (and the original is my favorite movie of all-time) but this comment is just flat wrong Sooo many product placements and cheap cameos
If you love the characters of the original then it’s enjoyable enough. However it’s not a good a movie. At least that’s where I fell on it.
I loved it when they had James Earl Jones did the voice of "This is ZNN" just like he does the CNN thing. I thought it was pretty good. It took a while for the son to grow on me but he finally did. Worst part of the movie for me was how he was conceived. That shit needed to go through the writing department another time or two
It needed to be some drug infused nightmare because he had no knowledge of it in the original movie. It definitely needed more time in the writers room to be a funnier scene.
You mean you didn't like that the entire premise of the movie is how someone is raped and then has to move in with his rapist?
ooof. never made that connection. Man this movie would be extremely problematic if the genders were reversed.
Finally finished the movie last night. Laughed hard at the Mutumbo cameo. Laughed hard at the Randy Watson finish. Overall it was fine. Could it have been better? absolutely. Was it a travesty that they made it? Naw. Seen much worse thrown out there. Good enough to scratch the nostalgia itch.
I had never seen the OG until this week. Watched 2 this morning. I love anything Tracy Morgan. Randy Watson reveal killed me. Fine film.
