lol. Just catching up today and both those females were brutally bad. Cody-Shaq was about what could be expected. Jade and Red Velvet just destroyed all momentum every time they were tagged in. Competent female partners and that match could been a dumb fun level PPV match
Totally disagree, thought both women came off looking good. Jade has a ways to go but like others have said, she's absolutely going to be a star. Mixed gender matches suck as do celebrity matches, however I thought this one really worked and was a lot of fun. The Shaq table spot was totally unexpected and looked great.
Also loved death triangle fucking those jobbers up. Squash matches are good, not every match needs token offense from the losing side
If WWE used a celebrity in a major storyline, continually used and brought in 50 and 60 year olds, had ridiculous gimmick matches, I think a lot of the hard core fans who love aew would be blasting WWE for trying to pop ratings
This has probably been talked about, but does anyone listen to "Something to Wrestle" with Bruce Prichard? I don't like the new stuff, but his stories bring me back to the old days. I heard he was a dick, and he probably is, but I think him and Conrad put on a great podcast.
If an American company kept putting Okada out in the condition he in, they would get destroyed. It’s remarkable that the guy continues to perform in big matches as well as he has, but my man can barely walk. It’s not going to end well for him.
I thought Jade was bad as well. She’s also super green and shouldn’t be in that spot right now, so I think maybe she has some potential for the future.
The last thing I want to say is I feel like that Shaq match was likely part one of a king term story that takes us to Cody/Shaq vs Jericho/Wight, probably at the September PPV.
It was great when it first came out and kind of got me back into wrestling. It’s not as good now since they have kind of run dry on material and Bruce is really too busy with WWE to do it. Bruce has also told pretty much all his stories by now. Conrad basically let it slip that they only still do the show because they are under contract. Conrad’s show with JR is good too. Not really into the other ones. He can ask Bischotf what color the ring ropes were and he will give a 20 minute answer on marketing deals and Turner legal and name drop 10 random execs that no one knows.
From not even keeping up, that makes a lot of sense. I know both Wight and Shaq were upset their Wrestlemania match didn't pan out a few years back.
Yeah, I've listen to the Bischoff one, and he is so jacked on coffee, or something, he will ramble on about God knows what.
I've heard Conrad is doing another podcast with Kurt Angle, too, which should be interesting. Between his million other podcasts and mortgage business, I'm sure he is raking in money. I guarantee Flair has asked him for a loan once or twice. Seeing as he is married to his daughter. I looked up Flair's net worth a while ago and it was only like $500,000. Not very surprising because all of his divorces a former lifestyle. He came to a signing in Greenville, SC, where I live, and was charging $75 or $100 for picture and autograph - ridiculous.
I don’t think they have run out of material to discuss. Imho the reason the show has slipped is because Bruce is so busy with WWE. He’s also clearly been asked to stop the impersonations. I enjoy Eric and Conrad. Don’t really like the rest especially JR and his yelling at the clues old man shit. Maybe I’ll give Kurt a go since it’s the only Conrad pod I haven’t given a shot. speaking of Conrad he’s also now hosting a TV/Podcast type show that compliments the beyond the mat stuff.
Conrad is rich as hell. I think he got to know Flair through buying his robes and belts. He really worked himself into a shoot by marrying Flair's daughter. Could you imagine Ric being your father in law?
Anyone else over 45 would be. But outside Punk and Brock not sure who they could get. Underrated option would be McAfee, who is a hall of fame level punter (if there are hof punters).
Mox is about to take time off for his kid being born. I expect interference and Kenny keeping the title as Mox is written off tv.
