I just want to be “that guy” for a second and say I have been a huge fan of how Devo Davis has been playing. I know Moody probably is the better talented one on the team, but from an overall effort perspective I think Davis is just going harder every game than Moody is. This kid is going to be special. If you follow him on IG, he is always posting pics in the BB practice facility at like 10 pm or 6 am. It’s insane. Remember in the 90s when we used to check the paper every week to see where we were ranked? Yea now we are getting to do that again. This team is freaking fun as hell to watch.
God damn it feels good to murder a team on the road that we should beat rather than playing down to their level.
Wouldn’t get too excited about him. We had zero depth at TE and our only one missed several games with injury and he still couldn’t see the field. Physically looks the part but that was about it for us. Hopefully he can be something better with a change of scenery
He played in a small school division in Arkansas and didn’t really dominate that either. Looks the part but isn’t actually good at football
Sucks that he wasn’t allowed to hire a football coach and was stuck with Chad for 2 years at least he canned him as soon as he could
Easily my favorite Hogs BB team I’ve watched. Whether this run ends in mid March or early April I’ve really enjoyed their effort and Muss’s superb coaching. The player improvement is obvious to all, only thing I would change about him is his refusal to use timeouts.
I loved when Big Cat on Barstool asked Muss, how bad this team would have beaten this team in November. Muss said something like it would have been by 10-20 pts and he’s right.
Realistically I think we win the next eight games in a row and add some hardware to the trophy box at Bud Walton.
See now if it happens we all get to say it’s bc I fucked it up. If I hadn’t said anything this team woulda won it all. #FourDChess boys.
He had a small fracture in his foot that had been nagging him and I think the Tennessee game is when he finally had enough and a specialist found the issue and he had surgery, out for the year obviously. He’s going to be a phenomenal player for us. He’s better offensively than Devo and just as good defensively. Those two are gonna be fun to watch the next 3 years. He should easily qualify for a medical redshirt, but this year doesn’t count toward eligibility anyways.
This is our RB coach after landing Jointer out of Little Rock we also picked up a huge instate OL commit in Chamblee, 4 star.
He coached at a HS in the metro Atlanta area and won a couple titles and is fairly young. Definitely relatable to a lot of these kids
Heard Football recruiting is up to 15th in the nation. Hopefully if we can crack the top ten, Sam won’t fire any more of those coaches. Seriously I heard Sam was pissed we ended up in the 20s for this last class so he decided some of the coaches weren’t recruiting hard enough and upgraded.
So all of our programs appear to be at least heading in the right direction. Our AD seems to understand what we want. contrast that with many of our former coaches and the previous AD who has people now calling for his head now. all in all, it’s nice to be overall better and the idiocy at other locations
We’ll still never be able to recruit FB at a high enough level to be a consistent top 10-15 team, but if we can get basketball back to top 10 status (fucking pay Muss BEFORE the tournament imo) and get a baseball natty in the next 3-5 years I will be one happy dude
I can’t disagree more. If you can recruit to fucking Tuscaloosa and Auburn, you can recruit to NWA. Tell that shit to Dave Van Horn and Eric Mussleman. It can be done but it will be hard as hell to get there. But it “can” be done.
His contract automatically extends and he gets a raise when he makes the ncaa tourney, but they’ll give him a nice raise/extension when tourney is over. Don’t want to do too much negotiations to become a distraction before tourney imo
The more I've thought about the recruiting thing, I've put it another way. Assuming you have coaches that can recruit (Pittman clearly has an outstanding track record there), there is no reason we can't recruit with everyone else, year after year. However, when you're in a loaded conference and everyone else has an ace that can recruit too, it is more about what you do with them when you get them on campus. We have the recruiters now, the real question is do we have the developers/game day coaches that can win? Frankly, I don't know the answer to that yet. I am hopeful, but there isn't enough evidence to say yes or no yet.
I just want to win multiple national championships in all sports and don't think it's too much to ask
