if you like/don’t mind foreign shows dubbed into English there are some really good shows that probably don’t ever make it onto people’s radar that are good. Some aren’t New and some are just newly dubbed into English. I’ll try and put a list together but I’ve watched some good shows over the last few months that I had never seen/heard of and I watch a pretty good amount of TV.
wife started watching it without me and then I half watched it while doing other stuff, but from what I saw it was a pretty good teen dramedy, plus the mom is smoking
Tribes of Europa is dubbed and I didn’t even notice. I fuck around on my phone a lot though so I am constantly looking down. Dubbing just doesn’t bother me. To each their own. Because I’m on my phone/computer a lot, subtitles don’t work for me unless I really want to watch the show
i am the same. I usually prefer sub when I really want to get into a show but dubs don’t bother me for lighter shows. It obviously does not work for comedy though. also I am used to dubbing so it’s not the same as you guys. Every big movie I saw as a kid was dubbed so it’s pretty much business as usual for me.
I haven’t watched it, but it’s often credited to Tennant as some of his best stuff. It’s on my list. And Olivia Colman is always excellent.
it’s alright but slow and depressing. It depends on your mood but I never finished it. The show isn’t that bad but I did not feel like finishing it. Too heavy for me at the time I decided to watch it.
I thought it was really good, one of the better things I've watched on netflix. Up there with dark for me
There's a thread on the TV board with like 5 posts, but this is a pretty good description. I think it could be really good with the background and stories they built, but I didn't feel like there was any real payoff after 6 episodes.
My only problem with Ginny & Georgia is that I hated the daughter its like the writers purposefully made her choose the worst possible choices
Hip hop evolution. Song exploder. Chefs table bbq. Worlds greatest homes. Some of the recent series I enjoyed
I'd probably add Sing Street to the list if I made it again, though I'm not sure what I'd replace it with. Maybe Melvin Goes to Dinner since it's actually been a while since I've seen it, and my memories may be more fond of it than reality.
While spending the summer in North Philadelphia, a troubled teen (Caleb McLaughlin) is caught between a life of crime and his estranged father’s (Idris Elba) vibrant urban-cowboy subculture. Based on the novel 'Ghetto Cowboy' by G.Neri, Concrete Cowboy is directed by Ricky Staub and co-stars Jharrel Jerome, Byron Bowers, Lorraine Toussaint and Clifford "Method Man" Smith. On Netflix April 2.
Working through this still.... 1) Bleed for This - solid choice and enjoyed it 4) The One I love - not a fan 6) I Dont Feel at Home in this World Anymore - liked the first 3/4 and then it went down a cliff 9) Black '47 - interesting piece
72 Cutest Animals -- these mugs are stretching the definition of "cute." A rat and a fucking octopus? I'm still watching
I started watching the docuseries Lorena as I sat down for lunch, and quickly realized what a terrible fucking idea that was. So, I haven't seen Burnt yet (it's on Prime and free with ads), and figured it's kind of the opposite while eating lunch, so I turned it on. This flick has an all star fucking cast. Bradley Cooper Omar Sy Lily James Daniel Bruhl (one of my fav actors, I wish he was in more stuff tbh) Uma Thurman Sienna Miller Emma Thompson Matthew Rhys Alicia Vikander
Not sure, but tried once and couldn't get into the first ep. That said, Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood was a very good movie -- pretty sure it was up for best picture that year. Either way, let me fix this, because that parenthesis is beside point.
Just watched it, I enjoyed it. 7.1/10 First “Covid” standup I’ve seen and it predictably had some lame covid/zoom bits, but overall it’s worth a watch if you like Nate Bargatze.
Last Chance U, when the players are making their cases for best NBA player and Joe says Lebron speaks up on national issues and someone yells "Not China!" Dead
Watched this tonight. Some of that footage got more intense than I expected. Also pretty crazy to see just how many places they went that immediately said no photography, almost as if they have a guilty conscience
