I’ve said it before, but he’s much more palatable when you view him for what he is — a conservative senator from a red state who often caucuses with democrats. The structure of the senate sucks and makes it extremely difficult to achieve a democratic majority. Even then, a democratic majority doesn’t ensure a liberal/progressive majority. To get that, it needs to be closer to 54-46.
someone tell Manchin that if he votes for DC statehood, everyone will forget he exists and leave him alone to grift millions in peace.
i find it funny how this is not called out (and gets liked) by a bunch of folks who say they are against racism.
this is dumb. I dislike it regardless of the race it is aimed at. But I would think in a thread of a bunch of holier-than-thou posters this wouldn’t be allowed. Continue on.
I know nothing about MO politics. I imagine we’ll see a shitty moderate liberal get backed bc the DCCC rather than anyone close to Cori Bush.
i too am white and hate white people. i also hate myself, but not for the same reasons that i hate white people.
Kander is the only one w the name recognition that even has a shot. Was discussing w some KC friends. He needs to win his next election, or he’s done politically. It’s hard to imagine a dem winning a statewide race. He’ll prob run for congress. Missouri politics is horrendous. The mayor is an idiot w just a HS diploma, anti education, punishes blue areas is there state and he is beloved. There’s a bill passing through the state senate that allows for militia groups to come in a d aid police during protests and marches.
I organize my whole worldview around symbolic categories that are reified for purely ideological reasons too.
I don’t pay attention to anything royal family related other than the Crown brought to you by Netflix, and I found it fascinating.
yeah I get it bruhbruh have you considered swallowing a jar full of razors and jumping into a bon fire in protest because that's what I'd do
This time last year this thread was optimistic about the Democratic map to a senate majority in 2022 regardless of president.
I think it was 2018 when he said he had some ptsd creep back up and said he was kinda done running for any office because he needed to focus on himself
There isn’t a single D incumbent who has said they will not run. Grassley will be 89 when the 2022 is held.
It’s still a good map for a D incumbent presidential midterm. Vulnerable D incumbents are: Kelly (AZ), Warnock (GA), Hassan (NH), and Masto (NV). Vulernable R seats are: PA open, NC open, and Johnston (WI). Rubio is probably safe in FL, but that could get expensive. An open Grassley seat in Iowa gets interesting. Ohio is definitely going blue.
not if we pass the "Donald J Trump Approved: Stop the Steal" act that makes sure ALL americans are automatically registered so their voices are heard. NO MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT VOTE COUNTING by allowing a mandatory of 3 weeks early voting in all states. ENDING VOTER FRAUD by preventing dark money groups from funding candidates and political spending and stopping the CANCELING of votes by allowing all incarcerated people and everyone over 16 the right to vote.
