Yup, everyone we've talked has said Cavalier heart problems are not really matter of if but when. He made it to 9 before it showed up. Hope we can get these meds dialed in to get a decent bit more quality time with him.
Spent about 4 hours tracking and wrangling this Dane today. He had been hanging out on this bike trail for a few days, and it’s been around freezing and is about to drop to near zero. He was super skiddish, but we were able to herd him out of the bike park into a cul-de-sac where we could corner him easier. I got a leash on him, took him to Sonic to get each of us a cheeseburger, then to the vet to check him for a chip, which he didn’t have. A girl that was helping to catch him is fostering him.
My guy turned 14 today. Still pulls like a bull on walks. Pretty sure he also fakes being deaf, because he damn sure can hear a microwave close
Had to bust out the retro ski jacket for Harvey this weekend: He was happier back in his chair, though:
The last pile of snow was coveted territory. Not pictured: the full contact battle for the cattle pen meltwater and shit souphole.
Finally able to take Sully to the beach. His lip getting caught on his tooth kills me. Weighs 60lbs now at 8 months. No idea how big hes going to be.
Yeah they can’t get to the flames and the glass doesn’t hold the heat to bad so they can’t burn themselves.
My fireplace guy told me to never have it running with the glass closed. I have a screen between the gas and the logs. I’m sure others know more about this, but are you sure that is safe?
IIRC the “breeder” (in quotes because it was a family who had two family dawgs) set up one and my daughter was supposed to run it but don’t think she kept it up. he is really healthy so I am thinking of breeding him with my eldest daughter’s fiancée’s tri color female. I want to have a Groot puppy as long as possible. It would be a one time thing and not for money but to have a puppy from him
He ain’t little. That’s his crate mat in the new bed so he can get his smell so he will use the bed. And yes I realize I need to close my drawer properly.
Anyone have a St Bernard? We were planning on getting another English Bulldog but wetr recently contacted by a local adoption service that took this guy in. He's 10 months and the family gave him up bc they lost their job and home and can't care for him. Idk if they'd allow us to contact thay family bc I'd like for them to still be able to see him. Anyways, I know nothing about the breed other than they are massive and would need to be an inside dog due to the heat here.
We haven't adopted him yet. Going to meet him tomorrow to see what his temperament is. She said he's super chill and is just laying down in the car so that's a good sign. If he's super hyper and wild and crazy, idk of we can have that inside with a 3 yr old. If he's just a giant lap dog that's gentle, it could work. Sawgrass Pet Spa took him in to get cleaned up and is giving him a place to stay so he's not in the shelter. He could have ended up in worse places lol.
10 months is still a puppy, big so will knock a toddler down but it’s all part of the fun. They drool, smart, pretty chill when they get older
Yea I know they get huge and I'm ok with her getting gently knocked over by a beast but if he's super hyper and jumping around a lot, that could be a problem. Do you have one or have a lot of experience with them? From what I'm reading, they seem super chill.
Had one growing up she was chill yet protective she would put herself between a visitor and me (I was a toddler) , never aggressive but let you know she was there Smart
Idk how I'm supposed to say no this guy. Met him today. Super chill. Going back on Friday with our daughter so she can meet him and then almost certainly bring him home.
