On C&B Supreme single pass NATO. Much better than the throwaway on Amazon that started fraying upon the first wear. It wears very close to the wrist...very nice. I have a curved end vulcanized rubber from Cincy Strap Co. and a canvas 2 piece on the way from a guy on Etsy. Still looking for a good leather strap if anyone has recs.
I may be in the minority but I’ve never been a fan of the nato strap as it takes away the elegance of the piece
I’m a fan of the Craft & Tailored leather straps. I have both a Nubuck and a Vintage Style and they’re both great quality.
Rover haven is awesome for cordovan leather. The guy who runs it lets you customize everything down to the stitching color, length, and buckle type. He's made me two and they are both fantastic.
Same. If it's a beater watch...or maybe a flieger style...I could see it. But otherwise, just not a fan. But to each his own.
I generally agree, but I think that some watches have the versatility to do both. The Explorer is a great example. It can look classy and elegant on a bracelet, but I think it can also work super casual on a nato with jeans and a hoodie. A Daytona, Royal Oak, etc. would look stupid that way, but Explorers, Subs, Seamasters, etc. can work.
I’m applying for a role within my company... just noticed in the job description “up to 30% travel to our office in Soluthurn, Switzerland.”
Apologies on that returned expense report. I’ve acquired a new portable company asset that will ensure I have the correct day and date to prevent this from happening again in the future.
On shell cordovan and shitty butterfly clasp I installed myself because I am master watchmaker trained in Geneve
Why? Just why? That doesn't look like shell cordovan & "shitty" isn't strong enough for that clasp... You've turned a diamond into a turd.
Calm your tits old man, I didn't want to pay $150+ for a leather strap when I very rarely intend on wearing it in the foreseeable future. This is the main strap I plan on wearing...handmade 15oz canvas. Need to replace the buckle on this with something smaller though. This thing is fucking rugged.
It’s a Rolex, not a Seiko 5. Just because you can put any strap on it, doesn’t mean you should... & you should throw that “leather” strap/buckle away
Helping my dad out, so I took his rolex in for service. I’ll pretend it’s mine for the rest of the day.
He has an armful of Rolex & another arm full of things I’d deem more exclusive. For perspective, he grabbed a steel Nautilus about 2 months prior to them getting discontinued
Lucky fucker. I'm still trying to get my 5711 (or whatever the new replacement is). If that fails, I'll try for the 5712.
Looks like an Amazon stock photo. Please place Chinese pleather strap on head to verify authenticity at your "old" insinuations
Good heavens... Richard Mille is testament to the truth that tastes are incredibly subjective. That shit is gross, gaudy, and goesch, but if it’s your style then who am I to judge.
There are a handful of Mille watches that I don't mind. Maybe not these exact ones, but I'm sure that if money wasn't an obstacle, I could find a pretty cool one.
Grabbed the AM51, as it’s finally back in stock... OG Sistem 51’s leather strap is worse for wear, I wouldn’t know where to start looking for shitty straps. Fudd Zonday is the crap-strap expert, but fear he won’t help me these days Spoiler
I'd consider the bottom two, but a Mille would be way down my list of watches to acquire right now, particularly for that price point. I've been offered a couple and declined, the value just isn't there.
Ya agreed. I'm still trying to get the 5711, but Patek making the dumb decision to discontinue is not helping. I'm curious to see what they come up with as a replacement, if anything.
