Even better. Practice picking line up off the water and casting. It's different than on Dry land I'd try and catch fish. Makes it more fun
Wife took the kids to play with horses for the afternoon, so I ran to the river. Had another big one get off when either my tippet broke or my knot failed . Also spent an hour casting to multiple rising fish with no success.
I don't expect to ever see it, but the video I watched on it made it still seem like a good idea as it would mean every turn on your reel will pull in a little more line with space already filled in behind it. Also I bought it as a combo package thing at bass pro since I was only setting up one rod and it came with backing, leader, and line. Maybe a rookie move, but I'm a rookie.
You've got tons of options at $150 Check out star rods. Aerial is half that price. Stellar is going to be close to $150 Shimano clarus is my favorite rod I have, but they don't make the same ones they did
Dad went out in Padre 5 days after. Came up upon a few huge schools that included 5+ 23” trout. These trout tried to find deep water to go bed down in mud and still didn’t make it. Being found belly up with mud in gills. Not great.
Biggest was 14 in / 1.7lbs. All on minnows. Trolled jigs and minnows for a few hours with nothing. Finally found some good cover in 10-15 ft of water and had some luck.
Going to be getting some rain gear for a trip I'm going on next weekend. Anyone have good experience with Frogg Toggs?
I just have a low end packable. It has done the job when needed. Just off of name brand, I would buy Frogg Toggs without hesitation. Especially at the cost. They carry some lines at Walmart if you wanted to get a feel of it. What kind of rain are out talking about fishing in?
froggs toggs because you signed up to fish a tournament and it might rain all day? no froggs toggs to toss in your gear bag in case of emergency? yes

32 more keepers between 3 of us. Split of 11/11/10 for the day. 10" limit. Threw a bunch of 9 15/16" back
How do you spell limit? The best crappie day I've ever had. Caught ~60. Went by myself today. Limit is 30fish - 10". Only downside is none are mooses.
Beautiful fish and scenery. I wanted to take the little one out today but the wind was awfully chilly.
Only 8 keepers today. Also lost what would have been my personal best bass. Snapped my 4lb test line as I went down to land him. Penguin The Duck yesterday and today I was on Percy Priest
Jealous. I tried fishing at Long Hunter yesterday but the lake level was a little too low fishing from the cliffs
Alright, I'm done for a day or three. Turkey season opens next weekend. Need to get ready for that. 13 more this afternoon. Gave them to my buddy because I didn't want to clean them. (Will still eat them).
