Had Watchman at Krog for the first time over the weekend and it was damn good. I'd put it on the same tier as Girl Diver
Have you guys been to pancake social? Just read a rave review of their bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Allegedly as good as you'd find in New York.
It's got pretty shitty review ratings. I'm not sure you need to be in NY to eat a good bacon, egg, cheese sandwich. But on a bagel, the Pork Roll from Emerald City in East Atlanta is fucking fire
Agreed on not needing to go to New York for it, seems like breakfast sandwiches are more of a staple there. Here I think more chicken biscuit or some sort of breakfast plate. May be basing this entirely on the Harley Quinn movie. Jack's new york deli has a solid pork roll as well.
These fucking ppl at Evergreen. Always some ridiculous line like 20 people deep. I've yet to go there b/c of this. It's also ridiculously expensive for what it is
Emerald City is good, but tbh there is no competition so grading on a curve there. ATL bagel scene sucks. You 1000% must do the Evergreen burger then pick up some meats to smoke. The burger is legit.
I know it's a chain but I got a crazy bagel sandwich from Einstein brothers yesterday. Brisket, cheddar, Chipotle aoli, fried egg on a cheddar and jalepeno Bengal. It tasted like a fox burger with fried egg. One of the best fast-food items I've ever had.
Yes. Much better than Marrakesh, but still not totally what I'm looking for. A good indicator of authenticity, at least from an Israeli shawarma is if they have the option for you to add amba sauce (I think is what it's called -- it's like a spicy yellow sauce that any shawarma stand over there would have). Garlic, tahini, and tzatziki sauce are kind of a staple locally, but amba sauce is much harder to find for whatever reason.
Same. Watchman's is super underrated. I'd actually put it just above Girl Diver. I've been. It's very ok.
My wife drives to Alpharetta to get a few dozen from BB’s every few months. Far and away the best bagel in the metro area imo.
Bagel Palace in Toco Hills used to be the answer. But all good things come to an end. There is a really good place in East Cobb that services the jewish community there. Or was. Have not been up that way in 15ish years.
Loved Bagel Palace - I heard they were trying to reopen before Covid over at N Druid Hills and Lawrenceville Hwy (shamrock plaza) but haven't heard anything in over a year. The place is East Cobb is Bagelicious and is good if you're over that way. My sister's family lives nearby and I've been a few times.
Don’t ever order from them on Door Dash is all I have to say. The most embarrassing performance I’ve ever experienced.
Does anyone have a pet sitter they like and can recommend? We’ve got a beach trip planned for the week before Memorial Day, and just need someone to come over a couple of times that week to check on our cats.
Just over a year ago, we boarded ours at Barking Hound Village on North. It was pretty neat because they had livestreams so we could check in on her during the plane rides. They also did some grooming, which was nice, although our dog came back dirty as hell from playing with the other dogs.
I recommend Wag Atlanta in college park if you’re flying. They offer a discount for a nearby parking place for $5/day too. My dog loved going there for daycare and I boarded him there several times when I traveled. Staff are nice and they take a ton of pictures every day that they post on their Facebook page.
I only pet sit dogs that are woefully neglected by their owners playing triple bogey golf every chance they get
It doesn’t stop me but it’s next to impossible to convince a vegetarian to go to a bbq joint, so my opportunities are less for the opportunity to go there.
My wife was a dancer (ballet) and tells me stories of the dumb food shit that went on with those mental patients. She said a very prominent figure in the ballet world would buy a Big Mac extra value meal, dump it all out in the bag, huff the fumes like she was freebasing, and then toss it all in the trash. Thankfully I have two boys.
Fellows Cafe in Roswell is making really good bagels but only Everything BEC and Plain BEC. They have smoked salmon on the menu so could possibly sub stuff but not sure about cream cheese. BBs bagels in Canton near Halcyon is the standard but it’s obviously a haul. Would kill for Russ and Daughters right now.
Got mine at the Clayton, Ga Walgreens last Tuesday. Made the appointment on Sunday, Monday was full and there were 29 openings for Tuesday. Appointment before us no-showed.
Northside was extremely efficient and didn’t ask any questions about criteria. I’m very happy that I booked the appointment last week before the bookitnow app added the high risk category because it’s booked for first dose until like June now.
I am a little bummed I didn’t cross paths with stuhly but I looked and didn’t see any 125 pound guys in Bill Goldberg t-shirts and Washington [slur] hats
Apparently 7 people are dead across a couple massage parlors. Some in Buckhead and the others in Woodstock.
