Container Store has really good closet solutions as well fwiw. They have multiple finish levels to meet different price points. I would definitely check out Ikea and Container Store to see which one best fits your needs if you are looking for closet solutions.
I’ll second container store. We’ve turned all our properties into rentals when we move out so we don’t like to pay up for custom closets because it’s not going to make a ton of difference on rental income but we want them to be functional while living there so we get Container Store’s stuff for the pantries and master closets. Just finished putting the new custom pantry in for our current place last week.
my wife is under the impression the container store is very expensive because we went once and things were expensive
held a 55 inch TV in the air for ten minutes while wife tried to attach the bolts to the wall mount do not recommend but completed, mount is slliiigghhttllllyyyy not level, level bubble has a smidge outside the lines but close enough no one will notice, but i'll know, so i'll fix it at some point
Their stuff can be expensive depending on what level for the finishes you go. We just go with their baseline elfa because you still get the functionality from being able to customize the spaces as you desire but don't get as nice of finishes. So we just finished a 5.5 foot wide by 8 feet tall reach in pantry with everything we needed: tiered shelves, pull out baskets, shelving onto the door, etc. and it was right around $1050.
What mount did you use? I used this a couple months ago and it was perfect. https://www.echogear.com/tv-mounts/full-motion-tv-wall-mount-for-32-60-tvs-egmf2/
was some fancy one but from like 15 years ago I think when they moved in all the modern ones seem like yours, where it looks like you attach the bracket to the TV and just clip it into the wall frame mount didn't want to fuck with taking down the old one when it seemed like it'd be perfectly adequate
Going to look at houses with the realtor for the first time tomorrow. Anyone have any tips or other things you wish you’d have known/done/asked when looking at houses?
Patio/deck mostly done. Now the wife wants retractable screens as well after they had to use extra concrete and rebar and fix leak and add drain adding 4K to the bill
Start in the basement and look at the equipment and joists to get an idea of how well the house was built and maintained.
You sent this while I was actively working on it Because I leveled it with the arm extended but pushed flat against the wall its very not even, but is the position it will always be in. Main part of the mechanism just has like a tic of give that I might try to shim into not moving as there is no tightening available on it. Should have done what someone said and just taken it off and bought a new one.
Kudos to you, I have a ton of projects that are at the "eh good enough" stage. Also yes, buy a new mount. Sanus is the best
Tbh because this TV will be exclusively watched in bed im not sure how obvious it will be when like laying down But movers come tomorrow and don't have much else to fiddle with in the interim
Welp, put the offer in on the Colorado house and it was accepted. In less than 2 years I've gone from a first time home owner to finishing a remodel in okc, building a home in medicine park and buying a rental property in colorado. I haven't been this broke/stressed since uni.
I struggle with spending a $100 or whatever because this is basically an extra TV we rarely use. Moved into a place three years ago with tons of sun so bought a TV better suited to dealing with that vs the entry level samsung. Tried to resell the samsung but never got any real bites so just kept it and threw it on top of a dresser in the bedroom. I'm very cheap on things I don't deem totally worth it. Like our fancy car lease when we only drive 12 days~ a month and it's like, 10 total miles a day max.
After an issue with cabinets, kitchen remodel is going great. Oven that I ordered in November got pushed back to April 23rd. Found out yesterday it is getting delivered Friday. Counter guy out Monday booked us for install April 10th . Found out this morning he had a cancellation and if contractor is ready for him can install Saturday. I could have a functioning kitchen by next week
thanks also the whiplash from reading about dual hose vs single hose is irritating, Wirecutter crew aggressively says 2 hose provides almost no benefit unless you live somwhere that gets VERY hot regularly
Thinking about putting an offer on a house that needs a leaseback that would coincide with the delivery of our next kid. Oh lawd give me strength
I get to move an outlet about 8 inches in our master bathroom because my wife just has to put a cabinet in this specific spot.
my next door neighbor sold his house and the water department turned my water off put a lock on my water meter instead of his.
Signed closing papers on the refi today RELIEF 20yr at 2.5%, lower monthly payments and will be paid off at least 5 years earlier than the mortgage its replacing
We're in plano now, but we're trying to get into richardson. Although our offer included the sacrifice of our first born, so maybe it won't matter much
We have one room that the central ac/heat just never seems to keep cool especially during the nasty summer heat. Stuck a window unit in there years ago, room is only used occasionally so NBD, we just keep it closed off most of the time That old window unit finally died Went to HD today and they have wifi enabled window units now Add one more wifi device to my already shitty slow wifi
Listed our house late yesterday, headed out of town, started showing today (had 4). Obviously different based on tons of factors but how many showings generally until an offer?
They were bad until Haier acquired them and started putting their technology into their appliances, they have improved significantly the last couple years.
Been looking at cooktops lately. I think ikea recently came out with rebadged frigidaire gallery units for their induction models. Those are cheaper than anywhere else and have a 5 year warranty.
welp considering I shelled out like $15k for a full set of Cafe products for the new house I hope this isn’t the case this fridge is sexy: https://www.cafeappliances.com/appl...or-Refrigerator-in-Platinum-Glass-CVE28DM5NS5
