I think in the next negotiations the EPL will be adamant about which matches go on streaming. They’ll be fine with Crystal Palace vs. Southampton on Peacock, not Liverpool vs. Man Utd. UEFA don’t give a fuck about availability, they just will take the highest bid. EPL understands visibility is equally important. I also can’t imagine BeIn has another year or two left despite their financial backing. La Liga is already pleading with them to sub license their rights out.
For the complaints I have about Peacock, at least when I click on a game, I know what game I’m going to get. Not always the case with CBS
Of course Liverpool-Chelsea tomorrow is on Peacock, fuck NBC. They're showing A10 Tourney basketball on NBCSN but god forbid they show the match on USA or something.
i tried watching the archived pool/leipzig game a couple weeks back and it was just the CL theme song on repeat for an hour until the action started around the 55' was pretty tight
There are valid complaints about Peacock but if they haven’t shown a single match on USA this season and you’re still expecting them to this far into the season, that’s kinda on you
I pay for peacock and it is what it is. I think it’s bad for the league to have big games like this behind a paywall but my main complaints about peacock are a lack of pause/rewind/fast forward and the fact that they still don’t have an app for Samsung TVs a year into the launch. How do you launch a major app, pay billions in licensing fees for major shows and not have an app on every single remotely popular streaming device?
The app not being available everywhere is baffling to me. HBO Max had the same issue and I just don’t understand how they isn’t resolved before you roll that out when you’re pushing people that way
where was HBO max unavailable? I saw it on my YouTube TV and Samsung TV at launch. I agree with your point though. I have an old Apple TV that I never use but hooked it up just for peacock for premier league.
I was simply saying they have other options to show a big 6 game and this is an unusual circumstance since there's other live sports NBCSN has to contractually cover at the same time.
I don’t remember who all HBO Max had issues with but I have roku and I know it wasn’t on there for a month or 2 after launch
Here’s what I know: ESPN has Bundesliga through 25-26 season. beIN has Ligue 1 through 23-24 season. beIN has LaLiga through 23-24 season but there were rumors a couple months back that ESPN was confident in a loophole that they could steal them starting 21-22 NBC has EPL through 21-22. So it’s either something small, it’s EPL or the loophole was right and they best ESPN for LaLiga
How’s the coverage been on cbs so far? have they come close to replicating the insight and expertise of Steve Nash?
cbs/paramont app fucking sucks random matches don't work sometimes, and sometimes the match you click on is an entirely different match
CBS is also selling $3 billion worth of shares to invest specifically in Paramount+ content. I’m guessing they’ll make a big run at the EPL. Although it sounds like the EPL is not too big on this streaming shift, especially high profile matches.
So this specifically states in the release about Away matches so does that mean Fox and ESPN still hold rights for USA/Mexico home matches?
also the game that they don't televise on cbs sports (aka the game that you cannot record) is not archived until 9pm while the one they show on television is archived almost immediately
Not streaming but Fox making everyone that reminisced about them look stupid. Uruguay v Colombia on FS2. Seems many carriers don’t have this channel. Mine does but only in standard def
It’s so horrible. Maybe I just don’t know what to do or where to look but I remember watching tons of matches from London and Brazil. Could be the time difference as well but wouldn’t even know where to look if I was awake and have the Peacock.
