Anybody jamming to Car Seat Head Rest? Cant cool me down or drunk driver/killer whales are pretty damn awesome. Sorry no links, i'm at work and they dont like youtube..
Those are two of their best songs for sure. I really liked the album with drunk driver/killer whales, cooled on them a little bit with the recent album. Started feeling a bit more blah. Who does the singer sound like? His voice always reminds me of someone but can’t put my finger on who
Agree, they sound real familiar for sure. A buddy keeps saying they sound like mid to early 2000 indie. Kinda like modest mouse but not really?
Been listening to CSH a fair amount, they're a mainstay in my rotation Teens of Style and Teens of Denial are all-time albums for me. And Twin Fantasy is great too I frequently listen to Can't Cool Me Down, Martin and There Must Be More Than Blood off the new album. The latter is an amazing shower song
I do enjoy his voice. He can pull off the high pitch thing like Whitney, good normal range, solid screamer with a nice bit of raspy. Probably won't come across the way I intend, but his voice is like an instrument in that range, I don't put many in that category. I did not enjoy the 2020 album at all.
I'm certain I've mentioned it several times at this point but Andrew Savage and Will Toledo are my favorite songwriters right now. One of the things I love about CSH is Toledo manages to write super meaningful and smart/witty lyrics without letting them dominate the song. A testament to how good he is at making rock music
Everytime I listen to fuck buttons (or fuck buttons adjacent), I tell myself I don’t listen to them enough. Everything they release is awesome.
M'ark Pepperonio anything good lately? Been on a Vintage Crop referral lately, Mini Skirt, Casino. Worth a listen. I also think there's a load of music we all miss out on from down under, just because it's down under.
beabadoobee - Last Day On Earth. EP coming this spring, co-written and co-produced with the dudes from The 1975.
Nice I’ll check them out. Haven’t heard a ton of new music lately if I’m being honest, but here are a few I’ve been enjoying: Astute palate the spits new record New lamps record GG King David nance staunch honey Foster care Protruders Archaeas full length True sons of thunder Burning bus Brandy gift of repition That cowboy WiFi on the prairie The cowboys room of clons both lavender flu records from last year are great The chats can be fun if you’re in the right mood and want the Aussie things still really into some of that stuff from alien snatch last year, outtacontroller, moral panic, sweet reaper. some good stuff coming out soon too, green noise has preorders. New neighborhood brats, bee bee sea, needles/pins, stiff richards
It shouldn’t bum be out as much as it does, but I always cringe when Phoebe Bridgers associates herself with him. He’s the worst
"Nonconsensual masturbation" is a weird one. Seems like a difficult thing to pull off. I'm sure it's along the lines of Louis CK's behavior but probably needs a different label.
that’s the main one I listen to but it’s been pretty grating lately. You get a khruangbin song every ~10 minutes
Just bought my first Post-Covid (hopefully) tix to see Dinosaur Jr at Brooklyn Steel. Unfortunately it is November, but still excited.
Dry Cleaning with another single off their upcoming debut LP due out April 2nd Single is called Unsmart Lady Spoiler
Been a while since I really listened to Wavves beyond a couple songs on Afraid of Heights. But could be something?
This maybe doesn’t qualify for the thread but I was excited to see it released today. Wavves - Sinking Feeling Spoiler edit: Cornelius Suttree beat me to it, but here’s the music vid
