I'm so obsessed with this song. Seeing them live a couple years back was fun and I badly miss dancing by myself at shows right now
unfortunately none of the usual commentary here, although I do still vividly remember my friend's older brother spinning this album while we played snes the days, man
Just gonna plug KEXP (Cheryl Waters is my sworn enemy, so please don’t base any of this rec on her usual 10-1 workday slot). Thankfully, there’s a two week archive. Marco Collins and Eva Walker are recommended listens/streams. Don Slack and Greg Vandy are also incredible. KEXP is doing a spring fundraising, so if anyone wants to contribute, please do. There’s a DJ out there for any musical interest. https://www.kexp.org/donate/
late to this but kexp and kpfk are similarly critical west coast fm institutions for me. Also Vitamin D is a monster lol
Ha. It’s funny that you just now quoted this. I went and perused the tv board last night to see if there was a Scrubs thread recently bumped, because I’ve been re-binge watching the shit out of it. Anyways, saw your PBS thread and felt compelled to mention (but didn’t, and you probably are already aware) that the entire masterpiece collection is available with like a $60 per year donation.
this came up in my shuffle after not hearing it for some number of years. this album is great if you like post-rock aka bands that sound like Explosions in the Sky
gonna need to hear that with some Texas high school football drama before deciding if I like it or not tbh, clear eyes and what not
and not-so-fun fact: i have hearing damage from when i saw eits live at the mcdonald theater in eugene like 10 years ago Duck70 i bring earplugs to every show i see but i figured "meh, this post-rock band will probably be relatively mellow." lol wrongnumber they were great though, minus the ringing in my ear for like 3 days afterward. definitely worth seeing if they're in your neck of the woods
this album always makes me think of my mom, I love her man, should probably (old school) burn this for her
