might as well pack it up now, last time UW opened vs. Bemidji State was in '06 for our championship year
Draw is what it is....really not sure how the #1 seed plays at 8:30 on Friday night with the regional final at 4:30 on Saturday? Minnesota has a similar but not quite as taxing of a schedule with a 8:00 Saturday night game and a 6:00 Sunday final. BC and Bucky both play the early game in their regionals.
Brutal. I wonder if they will move UND game up on late notice? Was really hoping to play Michigan instead of UMD if we get by AIC
It feels weird having 2 B1G teams eliminated before a puck is dropped. Wisconsin not looking good in P1 either.
Losing almost every 50/50, terrible turnovers, sloppy all around. Ice is terrible. Granato's coaching skills is still yet to be found. Really just an awful match-up for us in paper in hindsight. They don't give up PP, they kill PP, they are a scrappy group of old geezers that aren't fazed and play defense. Doesn't help we're an NHL speed team playing on a tiny rink with pond-hard, pockmarked ice.
No reason a team with two Hobey nominees should look like this. The ice is a problem, but it's been a problem for both teams. This is lack of adjustment. Bemidji is just getting pucks on net. We're still playing a finesse game. Hard to do when the ice is like this.
Just got home from the UND-AIC game. UND jumped them pretty good and the game was pretty much over about 15 minutes in. UND took the foot off the gas and took a few penalties in the 2nd period so it was a little erratic. 3rd period we took control again and just kind of rode the game out. 3rd and 4th line probably had more minutes tonight than our to 2 lines which was good since we play a rested Minnesota Duluth team tomorrow.
Terrible job by the officials to not overturn the BU goal. We can argue whether it matters but he was clearly offside because his skate was off the ice.
I see what you did there. There are a lot of variations that could make for an interesting Frozen 4. UND, BC & UMN could be big headliners together.
I can’t recall seeing a shorthanded penalty shot while killing a 5 minute major. What an interesting change of momentum.
I was flipping back and forth with the Mankato game but UMass was the much better team when I was watching. They had a magnet pulling the puck to their offensive zone.
With Mankato advancing, 4 of the final 8 are from Minnesota with the Gophers yet to play for a chance a 5.
I don’t know why any hockey fan outside of parents and school administrators would be watching Minnesota/Omaha over this.
Does this play by play announcer have a tone other than monotone? North Dakota has come close to ending this a few times and she hasn’t gotten excited once.
