Ok at some point this shouldn't have been worth slabbing https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Wonde...141099?hash=item28ad9872eb:g:iGkAAOSwmSBgYhwL
I know he’s not the best but I’m still clearing out folders. He was right behind Jordan for me when I was younger. I was gonna do Shaq next but I’m completely out of sleeves.
Was looking at some Piston rookie autos, and can't tell if Bey signed this or just dropped his sharpie on the card
I’ve been debating about clearing out my Stephon Marbury collection (favorite player when I was kid) I have about 130 of them all in really good condition. Seems like similar demand as Penny after a quick ebay search.
I have no idea if it’s even an option or possibility but is there way you could sell those on China somehow, I know he was Huge over there.
Haha love the idea. Dude has his own museum there. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/14421623/stephon-marbury-getting-own-museum-beijing
So I just completed my first damaged product request with panini, if they approve it, do they always give you the exact card or is it one of those equal value bullshit deals.
I’ve got a collection of cards that I’ve built up over the years and kept excellent care of. Amongst it I’ve got probably 100 Jordan cards (base and inserts) 50 or so LBJ (base and insert) Emmit Smith, Barry Sanders, Michael Irvin, Griffey, and several thousand other rookies of various acclaim. Not a ton of autos but the ones I have are shit. Loads of short print yada yada. Mostly B-Ball. Mostly accumulating from the early 90s to 2005ish. All Raw. I kinda want to sell it. Any advice?
I’ll buy the Jordan’s and Lebrons if you want to sell. I collect Jordan and my kid collects Lebron. I sent in some cards to be graded and won’t mess with that again. It’s a mess. I’m just buying stuff I want to collect and not gonna worry about selling.
If you want to sell as a lot, go through and try and find some of the highlights, post a pic of the whole thing highlighting the top ones, and go to eBay Lots of folks will buy collections
Har route is to go to eBay sold section and start pricing. There is a Twitter market, and typically it’s easier to sell <$50 cards there. The pricy stuff is better on eBay, but fees suck and there’s the chance of the buyer being an asshole and returning.
More than likely an equal value bullshit deal. I have heard of people getting something better tho. Not sure if you would get a White Box card though. That would be cool as hell.
What’s a white box card? I sent in a request on a Green Pulsar Herbert that the stamp outline was way off
White Box is a buyback program they do when some stuff can't be fulfilled, like redemptions. I've seen guys open them on YouTube and get some neat shit. I would assume they could easily replace the Herbert if it isn't numbered. If it is I'm not sure what they would do.
I think it will come down to the type of card it was. If it was numbered you would think they'll have to do an equal value situation. If it is a non-numbered parallel or autograph then I'm sure they'd have some sticker autos lying around to fulfill it.
How strict are they on that? I have an optic card with a lot of bad print lines on it. But im assuming they would need more than print lines. There is one across center of card and then there are 3 thick ones running across the top corner of the card
Looks like PSA has suspended most services until July. They had to do it at some point with a 10 million card backlog.
Good maybe by then people will come to a realization that they don’t need to grade every parallel or insert they have.
I was just texting my friend they seemed to halt their momentum catching up recently. Not surprised tbh. Just wish I sent in another order I've been working on before then
Was worried about getting another order in before my membership expired but they just posted this so that's good 3/30/21 All active Collectors Club members will have their memberships automatically extended to match the duration of the Value suspension. This extension will ensure existing members have twelve full months to utilize their annual Collectors Club benefits. Additionally, unredeemed vouchers will still be accepted during the suspension of service.
I’m not sure. From what I’m reading people are just going to submit to another service. I’m hoping this alters grading permanently between this and their price hike. I don’t mind high dollar cards being graded but people are sending in any rookie they pull. I watched an opening where a guy was putting stuff in for a order as he opened it. He wasn’t even looking the cards over. It was a older video but still crazy. Any card worth 10 bucks was being sent in.
I sent in an order to SGC about a month ago and, honestly, I really like the slabs. Took 2 weeks to get back 10 cards.
Are y'all thinking what I'm thinking? PSA is backed up. SGC is an option, yes. But there's enough demand for more... Let's make a new grading service: TMB Cards Inc.
Hopefully it brings them down some. Theres a rumor Select will have a retail release in the upcoming weeks, can you imagine the guys that pull the Herbert and Burrow cards and want to slab them ASAP, gonna have to chose another company or sit on them for 3 months.
How I see this playing out PSA prices soar so your psa 10 graded card values going to go up more. PSA turns into a higher price grader you only send top end cards to Places like SGC and HGA start filling the void of lower end cards that are graded.
If I had the know how and some disposable income, I'd start up a card selling site. You still go through PAYPAL but you cut your fees down to beat Ebay, when it comes to returns you actually have a department that go throughs them and doesn't always side with the buyer. You make it so people can't just put PSA10 in the title or when you search Blaster it doesn't bring up breaks. Theres a separate break category. etc. Can't be that hard right?
Search justin herbert in ebay and guarantee of first 20 results, 10 probably a break and 3 just random cards of other players they tagged Herbert in to show up in his results and another two or three just unopened boxes that tagged him. Makes it so hard to look up anything
Yea I add -break -box -repack to searches and it can cut down a lot of it, but doesn't stop the people who tag him as the player in the auction, that makes it show up regardless what the title is
Does that mean that PSA won't have any quarterly specials this upcoming quarter? Was kind of hoping they'd have a vintage football card quarterly option like they did with baseball this quarter. oh well
Doesn't say anything about it. Here is part of the release about what is suspended Effective immediately, PSA is temporarily suspending our Value, Regular and Express service levels. This will allow us to fully unbox and receive the recent surge of orders and focus on our most impacted service lines. We will take a tiered approach to reintroducing these service levels. Our goal is to bring all suspended service levels back by July 1, 2021.
Went by the card shop for some penny sleeves and intentions of buying some football. After seeing prizm was $135 a pack, optic at 55. I decided I didn’t want to be kicked in the nuts and bought the last two topps update jumbo packs in baseball. First pack had probably one of the better pulls in some time. 35th anniversary platinum Nolan Ryan 1-1. Unfortunately the card has a crease in the bottom. Called topps and they’re going to replace. Obviously not with the same card which is unfortunate.
Yeah I’ve got to send in the card. Which sucks as that’s the first 1-1 other than plates. I’d imagine I’ll get something nice in return but it won’t be 1-1.
Got my Herbert rpa today in the mail. It's actually a 4 color patch which is cool, because I couldn't tell in listing 4th color was there. To left corner looked like it did in listing. Bottom edge has some slight issues. But overall it's not awful for a card as thick as it is
if anyone is interested futuercardbreaks.com is doing a Contenders case break. Prices are good.10% off code, CONTENDERS, as well. I picked up the Falcons because I hate myself.
They're claiming it's due to the increase in submissions after PSA shut down and that they will lower the prices back down but I have some doubt about that.
That sucks. I’ve been dragging my feet on sending anything in and have around 100 I need graded all together. PSA gets the premium price on eBay but any other services worth using?
HGA might be worth it for a quick flip based on the newness, bit they have a 5 card limit and a queue system for submissions.
